LOL at people talking about technique and loose footwork... Everyone's favorite Rohit Sharma has probably the best technique and look at what he does... JACKSH!T..... Some armchair ICFs feel as if they are the master of the game and make judgement on how to play and criticizing match winning players like Dhawan.. If technique and text book batting was that important' date=' England would have won all the trophies by now in the history of Cricket... Dhawan is the BOMB .. He fills up for both Sehwag and Gambhir...[/quote'] ++

As Dhoni said during the presentation to Naseer Hussain after the Finals of The Champions Trophy ... Those players who have great mental ability and temperament are usually the ones who end up being the best players and not the ones with the best technique. Dhawan :hatsoff: 3rd ODI Hundred. He can fast catch upto Kohli

His high back lift always leaves him suspect against incoming deliveries and he like Shane Watson plants his leg across too much and is prime candidate for LBW. He is a sweet timer and has every shot in the book and that makes him an attractive player but has not shown any temperament to play long innings.

good sensible innings today, if he carries to bat like that i think he would be having a long honymoon. :) india might have got a sensible version of sehwag. and he seems to be a very good guy , watched a full interview of him in which he tells about the journy to top.

On the contrary rohit sharma has a very sound technique he is one of the rare players who does not have pre determined movements ala Tendulkar ,He sees the ball then moves forward or backward. Also sharma and watson comparison is not on.watson has a trigger frontfoot movement ,he is already on frontfoot ,then if the ball moves he has to play around the ball. Also sharma does not have a batlift nowadays he holds the bat still like cook and hussey, fletcher has brought about the change . Rohit problem is sometimes he does not bend down his frontfoot as he used to do few years back when ian chappel commented how good he was.

people keep saying Rohit has a good technique but i am not seeing it,the SA A tour will be his true test because he can play at his on pace and not worry about the run rate.

Where did Rohit display his great technique which you are saying he possesses, he has been bowled or LBW 27 times out of 92. LBW alone 11 times. which is 14% which more than 12.9% of LBWs of Shane Watson. Guy like Kohli is just 9% dismissed via LBW. cWR7V36TUy0

I won't mind two lefties opening for us. Gambhir and Dhawan. Gambhir can play long innings and win you matches. and Shikhar is having a great purple match right now. We should make use of it. Rohit Sharma shows flashes of brilliance only to disappoint us overall. He is one of those players who has stayed in the team from last 6 years enticing people with his elegance look and Ttwenty(IPL) PERFORMANCE. Gambhir on the other hand can be trusted. He is a match winner. Won us the world cup final and other plenty of games. He had a run like Dravid where he would save and win matches for us when team was in trouble. I can trust him to bail us out when our current top class batting has a bad patch.

Gambhir will make the SA trip. We need a reserve opener when Mooli eventually fails.

Rohit has been very good technically after comeback in England,WI.As i said he does not have any trigger movements so he depends upon his judgement of length,if he looses concentration he is prone misjudge length of the ball and play back to full length balls as he did on the lanka tour where he got bowled continuously.

Just need a bit of correction with shot selection
