to be fair he was sent out to do a job and up the run rate. He failed trying to that. On these sorts of pitches Raina is a very good player. Its the seamers where he struggles. I do question the merit of taking him to WC 2015

He hit some 4-5 back to back 50s not too long ago, bailing the team out repeatedly. Even the last 2 scores were 44 and 33!
I have no idea why he is under scrutiny right now. He has been more than decent in the middle over.

 For that people have to start watching cricket on TV sometimes - Cricinfo can only do so much good. :giggle:

Wow what kneejerk fans.... If I am writting my limited over squad for India, first person in my 11 would be Raina... Plays for the team!!
these morons cant take one or two failures from a player as like they're Mr.Perfect in their field

Listen Poyzz, it is not for this performance at all. Although today's failure made me look back at his performances abroad. In Australia, England and South Africa. And I am also not about removing him from the team. But surely, there is huge question mark on his technique against the short ball. He also seems mentally all over the place in that situation. I think he has get better before the WC.

I think Raina is fine for the the ODIs I am more concerned with Rohit throwing his wicket away and our lack of options when it comes to replacing him Pujara can be the anchor we need in our batting lineup but he has yet to be given a chance in the ODI (could be due to his injuries but we need him for the WC) This would be my batting lineup Dhawan Rohit for now Pujara Kohli Raina Dhoni

what i remember is Raina getting bounced out by the likes of Dan "the missile" Christian,if you guys think he is going to be effective in australia then you are being delusional.

Raina is a genuine match winner and has won many games for India - a fact you will know if you actually watch cricket. Its a joke that some people think his place is under scrutiny.

With Raina its not about how many runs he gets. Its about where he gets his runs. I think he is averaging less than 30 in Aus , SA and England combined. This average away from home is 29.4 (if we exclude matches v Bd and Zim it drops to 27). At home he is averaging 41.6 So there is 12 runs difference between his home record and his away record. I dont think there are many batsman in world cricket where the averages are so much apart.

nobody is disputing his prowess in the subcontinent where the ball doesnt bounce. here is his average vs teams abroad with pitches with good bounce v Aussies-19 v SA-19 V-WI-20 not a single 50 and still cannot handle the bounce after all this years. If the aim is to build a great team for the WC then Raina should not be part of the equation because he is a obvious weak link.
