bulbul Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Poor robin never got continuous matches the way players getting after failure currently :agree: Robin should have been better than DK.
Ram Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Some players can never fully work out the exact calculus of risk/reward when it comes to batting. Karthik is a true example of that (along with some one like Rohit). They have all the talent in the world, but their temperament is not evolved enough to determine which would be an appropriate shot with the correct risk level that is acceptable to be played in that situation. MSD is a master of it. Yuvi is very good at it and Virat’s getting there. For all practical purposes, Karthik’s been an international professional for close to a decade now and he’s still fully not figured the art of ODI batting. Where’s a fully fit and in form yuvi when you need him.

This guy is very very poor at playing percentage cricket. Karthik said he was inspired by Kohli. Sadly after those two innings he went missing. All these things start at the first class level. Learning how to build innings with minimal risks.

Learning how to build innings with minimal risks. To be fair, it is not ALL in the mind. First, you need the intent (or the will to win). Then you need the, pardon my language, the balls of appropriate size and material to stand up to the pressure of international cricket. Lastly, you need the skill to pull off what you would like to accomplish. Guys like Karthik, Uthappa and Rohit all fall short in one of the categories. Hence the outcome does not match the expectations!
cowboysfan Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 we have some good WK-batsmen from south india who show some promise,DK needs runs badly in Zimbabwe.
G_B_ Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 so whats the pecking order? Dhoni (light years +super light years) DK Saha Parthiv any other established names or upcoming names on the ranji circuit? Smit Patel the under 19 guy?

kumar713 Posted August 9, 2013 Author Posted August 9, 2013 Throw this IPL bully out.Bring back Uthappa.
saneindian Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Throw this IPL bully out.Bring back Uthappa. because India A didn't win a match? 10*, 69, 8* in Zim , did well enough to retain his spot IMO.
R.D forever Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Guess the team has lost faith in him. He is sent after raina and rayudu and he is there only as a WK .. when MSD comes back , rayudu will be at no 4. Still think he is much better than the hack rayudu. :two_thumbs_up:

G_B_ Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 One thing i will say forget his batting. His keeping has been poor. Spilled catches, byes. I dont think DK can hack being batsman and keeper at the same time.
