Just clarifying. People often say India's bowling has not been good historically. Fast bowling that is true. Spinners we have had many good ones.

^ hype is fine when the person is in the domestic league and stands out as a talent but has got no recognition. Once he's in the national side we have to let them perform a season. I don't mind backing Umesh and Aaron. They are the unicorns of Indian cricket. :D

He has already played 4 ODIs for India and took 6 wickets, one test for India and took 3 wickets. He had also bowled the fastest ball ever record by an Indian bowler in domestic cricket. Which world are you living in?:nervous:

Pitch was slow and low bounce. Bulawayo pitch is always like that and being a shortish bowler and a round arm action, he will always be skiddy. His strength is control and seam movement. He must be bowling within himself.

The test he played was played on ultimate patta where both teams scored 500 plus. No pace bowler will look great on such a pitch.

He is not fit enough and lacks pace at international level. He was huffing and puffing after 4-5 overs.

He is as quick as BK or Shami and I dont think he stretched himself yet for pace. His mantra is control first which is more important than just pace. Even if you have pace, you need control to use that pace. Philander is not pacey but effective. He is very similar to him in his approach. Regarding fitness, huffing and puffing does not mean, he lacks stamina. He bowled long spells for Haryana in domestic cricket last season.

Even in this video he is clocking 135 plus which is enough if you have control and ability to seam the ball.

I am not super impressed with Mohit, he is accurate at medium pace, Shami is fast medium, also gets better seam, swing, bounce, Mohit can be used in ODI'S, I would love to see Suyal, Pankaj, Kaul, Shami for test, Unadkat, Mohit for ODI.

I call that reverse seam and only seen Asif doing that before which leaves batsmen in decisive. Shami and Mohit have similar pace. Mohit's quickest is aorund 139-140, Shami 142, but both bowls at an average pace around 135. These are still early days for both. Shami is good but he is still a work in progress, has some issues to work with. Front foot landing, foot is pretty high in the air when he releases the ball due to this his fuller deliveries dont have enough impetus behind them and just float, as a result he has to bowl shorter in length which does not help him get wickets, long strides in runup is an issue too.
