The Realist Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Apart from having chubby cheeks you want to pinch, Chawla has few redeeming qualities. Cannot understand why Dhoni backed him like he was his son in the 2011 WC
jusarrived Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 He willdo well . Good bowler and a handy bat too
kumar713 Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 He willdo well . Good bowler and a handy bat too :haha:
G_B_ Posted August 26, 2013 Author Posted August 26, 2013 chawla playing for Somerset....... looks like a flat pitch
G_B_ Posted August 26, 2013 Author Posted August 26, 2013 and chawla failed with the bat... 3 of 3 balls. bit of a collapse from Somerset
jusarrived Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 :haha: whats so funny ? Hes a genuine wicket taker , only that his skills havent developed as should have been in the past few years ..hes still young though . I rate him higher than the like of Mishra & Rahul sharma who have played for India recently .
Clarke Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 He's a bloody hack with the bat. Watch how he plays/gets dismissed against Eng in the 4th test.
G_B_ Posted August 26, 2013 Author Posted August 26, 2013 6 overs 36 for 1....... not bad figues on that pitch.
G_B_ Posted August 26, 2013 Author Posted August 26, 2013 Chawla finished with figures of 8 overs 43/1 which is a very good performance on that pitch. Bowled two very tight overs in the death. A good performance by him with the ball. Somerset finish top of their group and progress to the semis...
G_B_ Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 Chawla batting well for Somerset. 60 runs partnership pulling his team back from a low score against some good bowling.
G_B_ Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/23854442 listen live Somerset v Middlesex
G_B_ Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 whoa what a shot for 6 the crowd really clapping him along
G_B_ Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 new ball now. But Chawla has destroyed their spinners with the bat....... Lets see how it goes v the pacers.
G_B_ Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 Chawla six apparently hit somebody in the lower pavilion at Lords.
G_B_ Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 58 not out fantastic innings for his side Somerset. Well played Chawla indeed. Rescued his side from a big hole.
Precambrian Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Why the eff is Chawla batting at no.9? The hacks above him at 7 and 8 average 20 and 10 respectively, against Chawla's FC avg of over 30, with 3 hundreds.
diga Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Chawla ne chaba dala. Chawla outbatting GG. So true... Chawla too is a a lefty & can easily play in GG's place in the current form
G_B_ Posted August 29, 2013 Author Posted August 29, 2013 i was listening to the commentary on the bbc while working (programming actually) First the commentators said "oh chawla has come out without a helmet, brave or stupid?" and "Spinners will run through Somerset tail" cause the spinners were getting significant trun then Chawla just destroyed their spinners. Nearly every ball he was giving them them the charge. 5 overs went for from 40 runs just before the new ball. He slowed down against the new ball which is fair enough.
