The Delhi Police special cell has arrested Abdul Karim Tunda, an alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative who is wanted in 33 criminal cases, from the Indo-Nepal border. Tunda is among the 20 most wanted in the dossier sent to Pakistan post-26/11 attacks. The 70-year-old is a bomb expert, allegedly with the LeT, and is adept at constructing improvised explosive devices (IEDs). An aide of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, Tunda was most active between 1996 and 1998. He is a resident of Pilakhua in Uttar Pradesh. Close to LeT operational head Zaki Ur Rahman Lakhvi, Tunda used to teach the outfit's cadres how to make bombs. He is also close to Hafiz Saeed, the Jamat-ud-Dawah chief wanted in India for the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. “Tunda was arrested on Friday from the Indo-Nepal border and will be produced at a Delhi court on Saturday,†said special commissioner of Delhi Police Special Cell, SN Srivastava, told IANS. Delhi Police commissioner BS Bassi will address mediapersons at 1pm on Saturday.
