Lol. I bet most of the people who have problem with fair skin obsession are the ones that have skin colour of an ape, have been ridiculed throughout their life for it, suffer from massive inferiority complex and always desired to be on the lighter side to be more acceptable. And this liking for fair skin is as old as it can get. Our Daadis, Naanis didnt have access to Hollywood movies, soaps, beauty contests to develop a liking for the fair skin. Fair skin , in a Northern belt of India has been a symbol of being from an affluent family, superior caste, wealthy upbringing while the dark skin till this day is associated with the lowest classes of society, the dirt, the poverty, the ones who work in our fields and the ones who clean our gutters. Like it or not, fair skin will always be desired as much as a guy would want to be tall instead of being short or a girl wanting to be slim instead of being fat.

Once again' date= consider Indian girls only for now - Do you think its natural for so many Indian men to wanna date/marry fair girls only and that its not just an idea ingrained in the subconscious because of the world they grow up in?
Yes. That is absolutely wrong. But we also have to consider that people may have natural preferences as well. What I am not clear is that whether preference of skin color is absolutely natural thing or it comes because of the society.

@raghav what coverup? My first line makes it clear that I attributed the wrong post to you. But your views mirror that of Clarke's so the question still remains. Did Clarke change your views or is that your own position. That the Indian liking for fair skin is one of instinct or cultural?

The rest of your post is fine but the bolded part is obviously wrong. I happen to be what you'd call a very fair (or maybe fair) guy in India. I find fairness obsession quite uncool . there are many many non-dark people who have similar views on this subject, infact this should have been obvious and shouldn't have had to be mentioned.

I am an idiot because the rest of your post isn't fine. You suggest tht the obsession will always remain the same but it has greatly diminished from the dadi-nani generation to now and will continue to diminish in coming generations.

@chepu It's not like med schools have scholarships. what are you going to show your dad? Your 16000 posts on icf in 10 months? You are not focussing on your grades AND you are too much of a wuss and a dork to have a social life. The fact that you have to brag about "being" in a western country, means you think your life has peaked and this is as good as its going to get for you. And this too is because your parents put you here. Try not to get kicked out of your pay-as-you-go med school (cuz you sure ain't in Harvard med) for being a worthless d!ckwad.

Off Topic but on Topic I guess...The other day this blonde got into the train had a great body on her......Wished she sat next to me,not that I would have done jack anyways, but still just the thrill of her sitting next to me,I was lucky she ended up sitting next to me,then I saw her face :puke: true meaning of a butterface and the sample size might be big to back this but most blondes age badly and their skin is almost scaly like a snake. I had a similar situation when a decent looking black woman ate KFC next to me and no matter how much you love fast food(i am veggie but still) the smell is disgusting. Indians (women included)need to wear deo....The smell of Talcum powder combined with sweat is a stuff of nightmares :puke: Chinese(First-Genimmigrant types) are obnoxious and the good looking ones(2nd Gen) don't hangout in the same social circles as I do :(( Most Brown mexcian women I come across are pregnant. As far as guys go....I am not gay(so by default I hate all guys) No compromise.....my obsessive hate is universal

Why are you so fixated on what he does with his life?

India's unfair obsession with lighter skin

Why are you so fixated on what he does with his life?
Because he hasn't done Shyte in his own life and that's why he has to post such things on the internet and make baseless assumptions about others to feel better about himself :agree: Yet he doesn't know in that process, all he's doing is making himself look more stupid. :nice: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Omg, some know-it-all chump on the internet called me a worthless d1ckwad. How am I ever going to live my life from now? :(( Everyone on icf knows that in order for me to have a social life, good grades, and entrance to med school hinges on the approval of a fatass living thousands of miles away, who when he is not stuffing his face with lard, has no thing better to do than comment on what he thinks my life is like. :haha: Nice try chump, back to your parent's basement. Hopefully, they've installed a dumb waiter for you so your fatass doesn't have to risk life and death by having to walk up the stairs for your daily meals :nice: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
