Swing is always more helpful to get wickets when it swings but ball does not swing often and everywhere. Pace can bother a batsman but you still need some kind of movement to get wickets consistently though a little movement trouble at a high pace.

yep..if u can have both swing and pace u become world class still atleast we now have skillful bowlers coming through its just great signs for future we can have complete attack if even some of these guys get to next level and keep improving well i guess its a start that we have now big pool of bowlers competing with each other :two_thumbs_up:

‘I like the feeling when the ball hits the helmet’ Umesh Yadav’s rise as a fast bowler of genuine promise from Vidarbha — in the back-waters of Indian cricket — has been nothing short of fascinating. His value to the Indian side as a quick, impact bowler with a chest-on action is immense. The selectors have wrapped the 25-year old, who has already suffered two back injuries, in cotton wool for upcoming Tests. His work-load is being monitored. Don't forget umesh came into recognition only after playing in IPL. Pawan suyal should have got the same recognition when he played for MI vs CSK match, but people were more interested in keiron pollard dropping catches in that match. I am not sure suyal is playing for MI anymore.

This guy was in the squad for test our great trundler jaydev played his only test am i right? Dhoni and co should be ashamed for selecting that trundler over this guy and moreover it shows all the indian think tank are asses in assessing any fast bowler and that is a very bad sign. Selectors did their job there but Dhoni and co screwed up big time there and still are screwing indian team till now with their mindless selections.

They played Unadkat being a left arm replacement of Zak for variety, but that was not a right decision, play the best you have, not for the sake of variety.

Not sure about that , mate. I remember umesh being hyped by Ravi shastri when he was commentating in a ipl match. How many bowlers we have lost due to non recognition even after doing so well in domestic circle. They need a platform like Ipl to get into limelight. People are talking about mohit Sharma only because of ipl. Jaspreet bumrah got selected for emerging players tournament after playing in ipl. I don't think he played any domestic match.

I don't think he played any domestic match.[/quote'] Rarely anyone is selected based on IPL. IPL is just a part of the process. Jasprit Bumrah was one of the better bowlers in Mushtaq Ali trophy which Gujarat won and only then he was selected. Performance in domestic cricket is main criteria. IPL is only a second preference. Similar with Yadav and Aaron. Yadav was marked since his Duleep trophy debut match which enabled him to play for DD. Aaron made his mark in Vijay Hazare trophy 2010 by bowling quick which Jharkhand won and a 5-fer in Deodhar trophy after that.

With this SR, his average should have been less than 25, but he concedes runs too quickly which is where he will have to work on, otherwise, it will be difficult to maintain such SR while bowling on Indian pitches.
