come on guys its a flat pitch and strike bowlers like Johnson always go for extra runs on it
Response would'nt have been so much if the Aussies hadnt begun chest thumping about the 150k phaast bowler who intimidated Indian batsmen after 1 game

Knowing which, GB should've refrained from the "we want to intimidate" speech. 91680.

"I wasn't worried about the short-pitched stuff," Kohli said after his century. "I pulled a few of them early, and then they started bowling half-volleys."-Cricinfo

Dont see any one giving this excuse when India was bowling .
thats cause Indian bowlers have a really **** bowling average. Vinay kumar for eg has a career average of 36 and an economy rate lose to 6 per over. Infact barring Bhuvi (who is young in his career) all our bowlers have averages more than 30. They also have terrible T20 averages barring Bhuvi. Maybe if these guys actually have good bowling records then i can say today was an off day or it was the pitch.

Knowing which' date=' GB should've refrained from the "we want to intimidate" speech. 91680.[/quote'] hmm he said that in the aftermath of Pune. And no he should not have refrained. That was his aim. I am sure MSD has an aim to pick up early wickets. Its different from proclaiming that they will pick up pick up early wickets whatever will happen.

I also think Indian fans are getting carried away with Kohli's comments and Johnson. The fact of the matter is that Johnson has worked over most Indian batsman in the IPL for Mumbai. Especially at Wankhede when there was something in the pitch. So lets reserve our judgement till there is an even contest with bat and ball.

I am not sure if the first pitch was overly different. There were also runs. Just that India was somewhat unprepared. Moreover the real damage was done by Watson with his nagging line and length. Today they countered him by charging down the wicket particularly Dhawan. We did not have that counter attacking batting in the first match.

todays pitch was much flatter and the ground much smaller than pune. The first ODI had carry for Johnson. This one had nothing

Who did he work over exactly? I remember even Raina thrashing the living daylights out of Johnson

on a super flat pitch. Thats the only way Raina can every get to him or any quality pace bowler. The remaining matches he was his bunny. I think you will even find a thread of mine saying Johnson is the baap of Raina in the IPL section on ICF. apologies It was Johnson should just adopt Raina http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=297820

I also remember Johnson working over Kohli at Wankhede in the IPL. Obviously in that match Dhawal picked up the rewards but Malinga and Johnson bowled a spell full of fire. It blew the RCB top order (including Kohli away).

@G_B Johnson can be unplayable on his day,but from what I've seen over the years he is erratic more often than not and loses his line when he's attacked. As such I dont think the Indian batsmen have anything to fear if they play out his first spell cautiously and then attack like they did today. If they have the talent to destroy Malinga then Johnson should be no problemo for them.
