ravishingravi Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 http://www.bestmediainfo.com/2013/10/siddharth-varadarajan-quits-as-editor-of-the-hindu/ So Swamy has his way. He had questioned Sidharth's citizenship. Although the official reasons given here are different. Not sure what to make of it. I though the was generally reliable and had some depth to his views. Prakat Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Wow. It is scandalous for The Hindu for them to lose their editor-in-chief so soon into his or her tenure.
vvvslaxman Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Hindu has always been a family run news paper. So not sure what Siddharth is trying to imply here. I didn't even care to know who the editor in chief of Hindu until this news.
Sachin=GOD Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 I dont think this has anything to do with his citizenship. Is Just the owners taking back control of their paper.
FischerTal Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 the reason being used to oust him is certainly weird. his replacement, Malini P is no admirer of Modi or the BJP
Detonator Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 I dont think this has anything to do with his citizenship. Is Just the owners taking back control of their paper. Exactly.
Prakat Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 @s=g is there a difference of minds between SV and the owners of the Hindu?
Sachin=GOD Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 @s=g is there a difference of minds between SV and the owners of the Hindu? I think its more to do with the patch up between the various family members (it was due to a difference in opinion among family members that The Hindu decided to bring Varadrajan - an outsider, as editor for the first time in 135 years) and as a result the complete control of the paper has gone back to the family.
Prakat Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 ic. was not aware of these behind-the-scenes activities. thanks.
vvvslaxman Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 He announced his resignation on twitter. May be that why it got some attention?
Detonator Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 He announced his resignation on twitter. May be that why it got some attention?
Sachin=GOD Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 He announced his resignation on twitter. May be that why it got some attention? Nah. He was the first outsider in 134 years to become The Hindu's editor so when he suddenly resigned it was bound to make news irrespective of the medium used for the announcement.
diga Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 (edited) sad to see one of the most respected newspaper of India - "The Hindu " turn into personal fiefdom battleground..so many journos exited in last 1.5 years : Sid Varadarajan/MK Venu/ Sainath/ Praveen Swami /Rahul Panditha .Now the editor Malini P also resigns...
