Detonator Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 No married person can claim to be a vegetarian... It's not practically possible... :giggle:
beetle Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 I cook but don't eat.My family believes I cook better non veg than veg(or they just prefer non veg to veg.)
beetle Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 same pinch :D my mom makes non-veg good using rubber surgical gloves and sometimes non-woven mask. Even she forces the maid to use it to make sureshe doesn't touch vegetables after handling meat. It's kinda scary when I enter kitchen. :(( You better stay out when meat surgery is going on......:haha:
SLICKR392 Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 I cook but don't eat.My family believes I cook better non veg than veg(or they just prefer non veg to veg.) I cook food myself and its hard to imagine cooking the food without tasting it.
beetle Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 I cook food myself and its hard to imagine cooking the food without tasting it. Husband is the official taster...... Daughter will like anything with animal stuff...these days I tell her soya chunks are dried pork pieces.

Oh ! My mom used to the same with soya chunks. Make cutlets with shredded soya stuffed in it and tells me its chicken.

Crookbond Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 :whack: Thats how you spoke to her? No wonder she is an eX. :P PS: Actually, there isn't any double standards. Non Vegetarians can and do eat vegetarian food also. So would they be bothered by a plate which served veg food earlier, given that they too are not averse to having veg food. Lemme try to put this in mathspeak, the de-facto language of this forum. Non Vegetarians and Vegetarians are not mutually exclusive groups. Vegetarians are a subset of Non vegetarians. There you go. :P PPS: You should read 'The critique of pure reason' if you already haven't. It was way too heavy duty for me. Couldn't even last 20 pages, but I've a feeling you will enjoy the book. And I say this in a complimentary tone. I don't look at it that way - there is no subset but a personal choice. Given the fact that one does not want to eat from a plate having non-veg food (a personal choice), the same way a non-veg can demand (a personal choice) to not have a pure veg plate. Critique of pure personal choice! :--D
Yoda-esque Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Shredded and fried jack fruit tastes like beef. Is that what you have been having all these days?
CSK Fan Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 LOL@the defensive meat eaters. Yes plants do have life' date=' they may even feel the pain, but there is no doubt that animals do feel the pain of confined lots and slaughter. That said, most vegetarians just want to be left alone to have their choice of food instead of being ridiculed for not eating meat. I have never seen vegetarians ask meat eaters what type of meat they eat, do they eat fish, is it just chicken or whatever. However meat eaters always want to know, if someone has always been a vegetarian, if their parents would object if they ate meat, if it is a religious thing or whatever.[/quote'] Yeah cry me a river. I have been denied an accommodation, denied a good rented house, people have shunned me on a table, etc because I eat non-veg. But I guess compared to all that discrimination someone asking questions about your vegetarianism must be so traumatic.

beetle Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 I don't mind cooking non veg....but the smell of red meat cooking makes me sick. The smell of mutton makes me feel like fainting.... I would rather sit in a pile of prawns and de vein them rather than cook mutton.
