gaurav92 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Important to note play starts at 9 am tomorrow (and not 9.30 ' date= as is the norm at other Indian test venues) Sun sets early in Kolkata during this time of the year and therefore it is important to start early. In fact I remember test starting at even 8:30 I think it was Indo-Pak Test in 07 which started as early as 8:30 am.
YoungTalent Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 My XI: 1. Murali Vijay 2. Shikhar Dhawan 3. Cheteshwar Pujara 4. Sachin Tendulkar 5. Virat Kohli 6. Rohit Sharma 7. MS Dhoni (CAPTAIN & WK) 8. Ravichandran Ashwin 9. Bhuvneshwar Kumar 10. Umesh Yadav 11. Pragyan Ojha

gaurav92 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 There will be some swing early on with the red ball with the 9 AM start. Yes it will swing a bit early on. But on winning the toss, one would definitely bat first You don't wanna bat in the fourth innings on an Eden pitch.
coffee_rules Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Ishat was the MoS against WI in WI. So, he will feature for sure. Dhoni will not go with both BK and Newbie Shami. It is a toss between Rohit and Mithaiwala, given his form, we will see Rohit featuring in Kolkata. For 3rd spinner, Tendulkar, Rohit can do. Remember Eden 2001 when Tendulkar turned the match on Day5 last session.

gaurav92 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Yep' date=' they could have even looked at a 8.30 or 8.45 start[/quote'] I agree, the over rate may not be an issue as we have spinners bowling in major part of the day for both the sides. Still, could have started at 8:30 am.
saneindian Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 There will be some swing early on with the red ball with the 9 AM start in Kolkata. The ball generally does swing in the first session at Eden but its the post tea session which sees most wickets falling either to seam or spin.

I hope Umesh yadav gets a game and more importantly gets the reverse swing with his pace. he is nippy and gets the reverse swing with the old ball. Got important wicket against England last year.

adi B Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Umesh did every well in a test he played at Eden vs WI. Took 7/103' date=' his best match haul till date.[/quote'] bowled some magnificent outswingers, especially the ball to get barath out
cowboysfan Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 First priority is not to lose the game.dhoni will lose the toss and the windies have good spinners,I think we should play rohit.

The current Retard impersonating a cricketer is an embarrassment at every level. Based on merit and performance the Retard should not be near a domestic 2nd division squad never mind an international team.
