Sidhoni Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 There has to be a better Test opener in Australia than David Warner
FischerTal Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 There has to be a better Test opener in Australia than David Warner i would fast-track Maddison.
adi B Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Johnson is one of their fittest guy and rarely gets injured. He is one bowler who can bowl same pace whole day. i am worried because he hasn't played too many test matches in the last couple of seasons and coming off a bit of an injury but he is surely a better option than starc
Scarves Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I am not sure about Faulkner as a test bowler' date=' Hilfy, Bollinger?[/quote'] Chadd Sayers. Pretty solid actually. Jordan Silk is one to watch in the future and Hughes is still 24 which is 3 years younger than Warner.
rkt.india Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 i am worried because he hasn't played too many test matches in the last couple of seasons and coming off a bit of an injury but he is surely a better option than starc He is not coming off an injury. Injury happened one year back and he has played a lot of FC and ODIs after that.
adi B Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 He is not coming off an injury. Injury happened one year back and he has played a lot of FC and ODIs after that. i thought he had a niggle in CLT20
adi B Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 no. i was at the ground(kotla) for all the MI matches..there were announcements that johnson was rested due to shoulder problems thats why he didn't play against PS and RR
FischerTal Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Chadd Sayers. Pretty solid actually. Jordan Silk is one to watch in the future and Hughes is still 24 which is 3 years younger than Warner. he cant do any worse than Warner :beee:
rkt.india Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 i was at the ground(kotla) for all the MI matches..there were announcements that johnson was rested due to shoulder problems thats why he didn't play against PS and RR Dont think that was the case. He did not play because pitches were different at Kotla. If he had any injury, how could he have played ODI series and bowl 150 plus. He even played FC matches after his early return from ODI series.
Trundler27 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 lol.... everyone seems to be trolling the aussies these days.... first ECB trolls them to schedule back-to-back ashes when they are at their crappiest and then Chappell trolls them and gets Bailey picked in the Ashes side. But my thoughts on the Aussie squad are fairly positive, I like Bailey as an International caliber player just by watching his body language. So he deserves a chance since many others have wasted theirs. Faulkner was already part of the last Ashes squad and since then has not shown a loss of form so it would be natural to persist with him. The biggest blow is missing Pattinson..... so they got their own version of Sreesanth (Johnson) to replace him. Johnson is very inconsistent so no one can be sure what to expect of him. Honestly, I don't know how competitive this series will be but being the home side should provide the aussies with some support
Number Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Ian Chappell shouldn't be taken seriously. Remember during U-19 WC he said Harmeet Singh should play tests for India. :hysterical:

Vilander Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 kp, cook vs aus fast bowling would be awesome...
cowboysfan Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I feel australia suffers from over ambitiousness.this team is slightly better but is not one which will beat England.
Scarves Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Right now CA XI v. England - 3/45 CA XI with Cowan on 26*, Finch 4 - Broad 2/15, Finn 1/14 WA v. SA - Chadd Sayers bowling well with 0/8 off 7 overs. Just started though Phil Hughes and Shaun Marsh are playing NSW v. QLD - 0/78 with Warner on 41 - Khawaja (QLD), Smith (NSW), Lyon (NSW), Haddin (NSW)
Scarves Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 And Warner reached 50 then got out. He is in great form at that moment though with 4 centuries since the Ashes finished.
Scarves Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Bailey ironically runs out Doolan, Warner gets 21, Smith gets 36 and Hughes is on 100* atm
