Is Pakistan batting line-up worse than Bangladesh's?

  1. 1.

    • Pakistan
      7
    • Bangladesh
      25
    • Neither. Both are equally bad

First off, I want to clear the air that this thread is not intended to mock Pakistan's batting (or lack of it... Sorry, I had to take at least one shot :winky:). However, man for man if you compare Pak batting to Bangladesh, I can clearly find Bangladesh having a superior batting line-up currently. Banga Boys have Shakib, who is a classy all-rounder, young Mominul showing plenty of promise, Mushfiqur who is in a rich vein of form, Nasir Hossain who has a fantastic record in both ODIs and Tests and of course Tamim at the top of the order. Pak has Misbah. Other than him, they have.................. well..................... ahem........................... NOBODY!

Our batting is on par with Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and New Zealands and only marginally behind West Indies. Our woeful bowling makes it look worse, and it doesn't help that we don't really play that all often. However, I'd back us to do just as well as, and probably better than PAK/SL/NZ in any condition.

In any condition is a bit too ambitious.

At the moment Bangladesh batting is far superior than Pakistan and that's the fact. Bangladesh have some real good upcoming talent but the question is how far they can go, we all know what happend with Ashraful. Tamim is a spoiled brat of Bangladesh team, though he is in a good nick atm, I fear he will head to be the U Akmal of Bangladesh team in near future. He too like Pakistani batsmen don't have the temperament.

Ya that's why they defeated us just an year back at our home. I still feel sometimes we Indians go overboard insulting them. Plus from what I remember we lost our last match to Bangladesh n got kicked out of competition whereas Pakistan defeated them twice to win it.

I don't think it is an overall comparison or head to head comparison. It is just the batting performances and overall approach.

Nothing against Pakistani, we are talking about batting and the current Pakistani batsmen are impotent who failed to score 250+ in last 2 years. In bowling, I would rate Pakistanis much higher.

yes but 'current performance'... not the line-up...
Going to agree with you. Pak batting unit can performed better than the rubbish they are dishing out these days. Poor team selection, bizarre batting order , relying on bits and piece players rather than specialists but the worst is an absolute lack of self belief.

Yes, this is based on current performance and the fact that I have not seen a single young Pakistani batsman step it up at the international stage. Umar Akmal was once considered a great prospect only to fizzle out just as quickly. Many other batsmen showed early promise, but failed to build on that.

When was last time Bangladesh beat Pakistan in an international match? I don't even remember it.
That is because Pak bowling is FAR FAR superior than Bangla bowling (or even for that matter Indian bowling). Batting has hardly won Pak anything in the last 5 years or so.

Pakistan has a fair chance of losing if they play Bangladesh in Bangladesh currently. They might still have an edge if they play Bangladesh in neutral/home territory.
