Poor broadcasting/camera work yesterday

Tendulkar entrance should have been better shot. Anyone remember Ponting's enterance in his last test vs South Africa? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UkgmwRJN3w]Ricky Ponting Walks To The Crease In His Last Innings - YouTube[/ame] They covered it from the dressing room to the ground. My only beef is that these guys kept showing the zoomed out crowd view when they should have changed the picture to Tendulkar walking between the West Indies players when they had arranged the guard of honor. It's not well covered. You would see it right at the end when he going to meet Pujara at the crease. A bit fail on the camera folks.

Completely agree these I-diots were more keen on showing that's stupid Nita than Sachin infact missed most of guard of honor given by WI team. Empty seats poor camera work they are making a mess. Today I expect loads of movie jokers to be around and more of IPL than cricket.

Terrible camerawork. I didn't watch it live last night as I wasn't expecting him to bat yesterday but when I saw it this morning I was really pissed. Seriously the guy controlling the feed decided to show Nita Ambani instead of Sachin, what an idiot!

You are comparing Channel 9's sleek coverage to the Star Sports one. But really it is like Gavaskar saying that there is a guard of honor but we can't even see it.

Goes on to show, the whole Indian crew set up is always obsessed with bollywood and other superstars. You will be watching games from Australia, or nhl, or NBA where hollywood actors would be sitting around the dugout of the team, but broadcasters don't keep showing them. They will probably show them once in a while and thats it. These packholes keep showing them as if those celebrities are showing their face last time before they wear their burkha.

Production values are always better in England and Oz where cricket is not even the no.1 sport... lol --- coming back the topic, i hate it when the camera crew in india just hold the camera at white women and other fair skinned indian women for an extended period of time. as if they are part of the entertainment. The camera stays on their face way beyond it crossed the awkward zone and just inching towards the pervert alert zone. This voyeuristic nature is getting increasingly embarassing. I guess you just cant remove the "staring" nature from the indian genes. --- why did they show nita ambani so many times? seriously... the queen wouldn't get a passing glace at the Wimbledon.

I sometime find it bizarre; if you and I ordinary fans feel so strongly against it; star crew which consists of ex Indian captains its hard for me to believe wouldnt feel the same way. Given how shameless our BCCI babus and these so called celebrity are, i wouldnt be surprised if people pay channels to show them at the right time

Just to add to that. This was picture perfect moment. I mean the whole cricketing world was waiting to capture that moment when he comes out to bat. Everyone, I mean you me and anyone who has watched cricket in last 10 years, would know that he is going to get a guard of honour. This is like messing up someone's wedding ceremony recording. People know what things need to be captured well. But these Knuckle heads born in Mars found something else better to capture.

all they had to do, was to keep the camera on SRT. horrible job. Ruined one of the most special moments of the day. Who cares about Mrs Ambani. This was a special moment ruined by idiots.

BCCI are either one of the most shameless people or the most stupid people... one of these BCCI Live Scores ‏@TheBCCILive 17h Standing ovation from Nita Ambani, guard of honour from umpires & WI players, Sachin on crease. its like a exquisite flower which blooms once in a century and we missed that in live... there are other videos which show our hero's complete walk thru the GoH, but our memories are ruined now... full GoH video, they should have shown in live is here friends... http://www.starsports.com/cricket/match-centre/seriesid=1000001/seriesInstanceid=2120/matchid=175003/features/videoid=1291526/index.html#watch-gem-the-making

I think people need to realise that BCCI is still new to the broadcasting game. It will take them some time to get to the standards of a Sky and a Channel 9 who have been in the game for a long long time. The big advantage for Sky is that they broadcast across sports which mean that they use people and technology from one sport in another. In 1992 when Sky started premier league coverage their quality was **** as well compared to the BBC. Its similar to BT sports which has come in new to the market now. BCCI from what i am aware of is hiring more local Indian camera men and editors compared to previously when there were a large number of foreign camera people. So its good that locals are being used. This has the potential to even impact bollywood and other broadcasting.
