Wow!! never expected this awesome speech.. when Shashtri said stage is all yours.. i was like what are you doing given SRT not good with interview and stuff.. But it was all planned. Amazing how he brought down everyone to their tears.. what an incredible speech..!! Thanked everyone who mattered.. unbelievable!! And then going down the pitch and touching the ground.. very well planned and well executed!! Salute

Wish he had retired infront of larger crowd.. Would have been larger if Windies had shown some spine and took the game into 4th or 5th day. It is a MOVIE.. So bit more dramatic.

i wept hard man! was not expecting that at all. it was like watching one of his well compiled tons. an absolute treat. well done to the cameraman for capturing a diverse range of faces in the crowd, all spellbound, hands on heads in sheer denial. did anyone see Rahul Bose there weeping, and gesturing with his hands, no doubt saying something like 'chala gaya'?

That's what I am saying,No teleprompter or cue cards,but the way the speech was constructed did look it was reharsed,it was not on instinct,which may not have been such a bad thing given the situation

What if you suddenly start searching for words , thoughts.. that is why it looks good. Impromptu speech requires great degree of command over language and lot of information at your tips.

My West Indian mate says this If you know West Indian people, or people of Africa-American community living in USA, you know they are usually pretty religious people even though they might the biggest party people. But this is what his current status is. "As of right now my greatest regret is never to have seen Sachin Tendulkar bat live. What a human being. Batting can be so hard at times, Sachin made batting looked beautiful. What a beautiful human being as well. His brother looked like Jesus Christ so I'm convinced Sachin is god. I am not one of those who call and hype things with god like terms, but this status was just too good I though. Loved the bit where he mentions about his brother looking like Jesus :hatsoff:

Compare this to his first interview where he was shy and held back to his last one on field where he didnt hold back and made sure everyone had a big lump in their throats by the time he was done.
