AAP will be the best opposition party possible for any state. The ideal scenario would have been BJP winning with little majority and AAP sitting in opposition. For the newcomers it would be a good experience and in the next election they should form government.

Looks like people of Delhi need to suffer because of AAP's "supporters"
why blame AAP supporters .. wow why not blame BJP supporters :hysterical::hysterical:

AAP thinks they being in the opposition will give them mileage. But this victory for AAP is a double edged sword ie 1. If they support bjp & bjp gives good governance then Aap will remain just another party for a while 2. If they remain neutral they will be whitewashed in next elections, 3. If they form govt with congress support their fight against corruption mantra will get a beating. So overall Aap future looks bleak. Can imagine a split in Aap sooner than later :hysterical:

Two reasons- (i) I dont think those who have voted for AAP will stick to AAP because of its principled position. But majority of anti-congress voters who have voted to BJP assuming AAP is not a player will vote to AAP next time around. This election was fight between Cong and BJP for many, it will be BJP vs AAP in next time elections.. (ii) Its easy for AAP to raise another 20 crores for its election campaign , but not easy for BJP to raise 100s of crores again.. But I dont think BJP will allow another elections to happen..It will do everything to break Cong and AAP to poach some legislators , thus avoiding the obvious.

If another election happens, AAP would get resounding victory. Reason - Congress 25% vote share is to be taken. A very large chunk of that would go to AAP. If you add that chunk to existing 31% vote share of AAP, you looking at some 40% or so vote share which would be good enough to get 40+ seats.

AAP's share comes from all parties' votes, most from Congress. BJP lost 2% since 2009. So, to say that the AAP mandate is to keep all major parties out is not correct. The onus on the government falls on BJP though being the single largest party. They can form a govt and get AAP to abstain any vote of no-confidence and ssurvive. This way, AAP can keep a check on the govt, by sitting in the opposition. I think this is likely to happen in the coming days.,

If media didn't pimp for BJP and Cong' date=' AAP would have been in majority today ..All those fake pre poll prediction showed very few seats for AAP which made many people think BJP is the only alternative for Cong.[/quote'] :hysterical: AAP had been made by media. Remove media attention they got and i would have been shocked if they would have even won a single seat.

The only alternative seems to be BJP + independents forming a minority government on good faith that Congress + AAP won't bring a no confidence motion. Either that or get 3 MLAs from congress to jump ship. The anti defection law has a loophole where if one-third of the legislators defect, it can be considered a merger
That rule applies only to National Parties and AAP is currently not a National Party so BJP doesn't need to break 1/3rd of its MLAs to have it considered as a merger. Just saying.....

Did you vote?
how does is matter ? doesnt AAP take pride in announcing their supports or ground workers have come from all over the country ? infact how do you know he is even from Delhi and could vote ? Even if he put some funds hasnt he done his bit. Who the hell is paying to keep AAP a clean party its people like him.

Letting BJP form a minority govt and getting their demands fulfilled would actually serve AAP's purpose. Add to that they would get some experience and maintain the momentum for Lok Sabha polls. It may also help them in getting more support and resources to prepare for future.

Don't think so. The law was changed and also it's not one third anymore, but two thirds.

Arvind Kejriwal has clearly ruled out supporting either the BJP or the Congress in Delhi, but his senior party colleague Prashant Bhushan today told NDTV that the Aam Aadmi Party can consider issue-based support to the BJP if it meets certain conditions. Mr Bhushan also said this was his view which had not yet been discussed in the party but that it was something his party could consider. He says the BJP should agree to - in writing - about passing the Jan Lokpal Bill on December 29 and setting up jan sabhas as promised by AAP in its election manifesto.

The reason AAP does not want to form a govt is because it knows it cannot pass the Lokpal bill and fulfill it's other promises, they just don't have the means to do that. Also , nobody can function in a real world by operating in vacuum and taking a moral high ground. They need to be a little more inclusive.

also the bjp version is better as they talk of investigation wing i.e.the cbi to be independent and not under either lokpal or gov. Arvind's lokpal was/is draconian in this regard.
