If you look at it objectively Clarke is doing the exact same thing that Dhoni did. Loss of 0-8 vs OZ and England then 4-0 white wash of Australia, West Indies, NZ at home. One series loss against England at home. Now Clarke 7 out of 9 loss now on his way to whitewash England at home.

Clarke isn't such a good captain too anyway, he shouldn't have been retained as captain after all those losses. Australia seems to have this crappy culture of passing over the test captaincy through a slow transition, like how everyone knew they were readying up for Ponting to be the next when Waugh was the captain and then similarly Clarke after Ponting. Clarke is their best batsman. Dhoni doesn't even deserve to be a part of the test team, let alone captain it. If he indeed is sadly the best keeper India has, so be it, but could at least the captaincy be passed over to someone else?

Dhoni is much better test batsman than what people make him look. I still think without look as classy, elegant as Rohit Sharma or some others in the tema, he will average more overseas than some of our youngsters. People keep talking about his technique and crap, but he has the ability to handle it all. He knows how to play smart cricket like attacking and waiting for spinners to come and playing out likes of Dale and other main stream bowlers of the opposition. Averaging close to 40 runs and he comes to bat 4th or 5th down always.. Most of the time battign with tail. Ashwin came quiet recently, but otherwise he had to bat with tail most of his CAREER. That's a pretty good average for a player coming at that down. No one realized how good he is because we had trio of Dravid-Tendulkar-Laxman in the team who used to hit hundreds, but Dhoni has been good for us.

He is the captain and teams most experienced bat why does not he come at 5 .

His keeping is suspect. He doesn't even go for catches between him and first slip. Even Parthiv is a better keeper. A better keeper in overseas seaming conditions and a better captain could've surely avoided 0-8?

You ignore 4-0 win over OZ, 2-0 win vs WI , 2-0 win over NZ IT is not like everything is tragic. FYI Dhoni had 4 spinners . How exactly he can win when a traditionally weak player against spin played better than traditionally strong player against spin. Never seen that . Gifting wickets to Panesar, Swann.

LOIs. Keep him in ODIs for all you want. He has the numbers. No 1 test team is fine, but the fall was drastic. You still don't have an answer to why we should show patience with Dhoni just because Australia are patient with Clarke. If they aren't the benchmark, why use them as example. This ashes victory doesn't undo those losses. What next? Pakistan are patient with Misbah, so we should be patient with Dhoni?
