Zanjeer Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 He is struggling, isn't he? Bowling 125-128 k and looking really ineffective in this test match. I think he should retire from international cricket and maybe he can be made our bowling coach. Should get in yadav now.
StriKe Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 This series is booked for kallis..Zak should try NZ tour
fineleg Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 His retirement around the corner but yes make him be part of team coach

Last game when i said this during second innings, other posters were making fun.
Zanjeer Posted December 27, 2013 Author Posted December 27, 2013 Last game when i said this during second innings' date=' other posters were making fun.[/quote'] he did bowled ok last match. He looks really stiff after the work load he had in the first match. He s not getting any younger. Should retire if he can't give 100% every match.
Silva Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Yes. He's keeping out yadav who probably would have been a lot more useful on these pitches.
The Realist Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 His retirement around the corner but yes make him be part of team coach So he can pass on dietary tips?
express bowling Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Last game when i said this during second innings' date=' other posters were making fun.[/quote'] I was unsure of Zaheer's fitness even before the tour and didn't really want him in the playing 11 for that reason. It became even more apparent during the 2nd innings of the last match. He looked out of steam. Even if he takes a couple of wickets now, it is time for him to retire. It is very risky to play an unfit, aged pacer. If he breaks down then the workload on the other pacers will be tremendous and might cause more injuries.
vishalvirsingh Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 128 to 132k with new ball ghata Zak today
JourneyMan Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Never easy being a pace bowler in test cricket. I think it's time for him to retire, he's had a decent career. Better to step out while you're still respected.
Number Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 He is not a bowler. Pretty much an on-field coach to give some valuable tips.
saneindian Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Absolutely love this. After 1st test 1st innings, "Zaheer a must for 2015 WC" and 5 days later "Should he retire"?

Zaheer Khan definitely has run out of gas after first test..all that Fitness training in France seems to have count for noting ..he can't even last a 2-test series , forget about 4-test or 5-test series like in England or Australia ...I don't see much future for him beyond this test series ..good that he is pensioned off now as he got his 300th wicket too .. Dropping Umesh to carry Zak reminds me of the scenario when Srinath was benched for 2+ years for home tests to accomodate Kapil Dev on his quest for 434 test wickets - highest test wicket tally in those times:orderorder:
amiret Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Should Zaheer khan retire after this tour?. No. he also deserves a choreographed last series at home against West Indies.
saneindian Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 who said that? Not me. Lol Not aimed at you. General thought, there was a thread opened about that 2015 WC thing IIRC Lets wait for the match to be over. Bowlers are looking tired, even Shami. But lets see how we do with an older ball.
Number Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 No. he also deserves a choreographed last series at home against West Indies. Look who is back after a bad day for India. :giggle:
