But if you look at world cricket very few bowlers sustain speed all day. Anderson sometimes drops below 130k as the day goes on. Most of the English bowlers. Australian and SA bowlers are the only one who maintain speed through out the day.

I think more than the number of overs the worry was him breaking down again if he bowled longer spell. he is still working on his test fitness thats why i doubt he would be rushed into the team.

Varun Aaron averages 33 in FC with a strike rate of 64. Clearly not good enough. Why are some people asking him to be included in test cricket ? If his avg and SR are that poor against domestic batsmen, what chance does he have against test class batsmen ? A clear case of some people getting carried away with his pace and at the top level, pace alone is not enough. Along with pace, you need to hit the right areas and have ability to move the ball and be persistent enough to stick to your plans to take wickets.

Forget that his own personal likes and dislikes totally derailed the team. Maxwell as spinner, Doherty over Lyon, refusal to bat in top 4, the homework gate or picking Agar in the 1st Ashes test over Lyon - all those were truly out of box ideas. Also, India beating Aus 4-0 at home is a run of the mill performance, Aus beating England in an Ashes at home is a strategic marvel

when he first played FC 4 years back, he was very raw. He then did well in EPT on flat tracks in 2011. After that, he played for India but injury made him play nothing for about 18 months. This season, he is averaging 20. See what he is doing now, not what he did 3 years back.

Or maybe I look at that little something more than statistics to judge captaincy abilities.

I hope they don't rush Aaron into international cricket. 2 months of bowling in FC cricket may not be enough given the number of injuries he's had. Let him continue to play more domestic cricket for the next couple of months and then maybe pick him for the World T20 in March

I think 6 FC matches are enough. You cannot prevent such injuries if they happen. 5 matches and over 100 overs have already shown that he is fit. More domestic wont make him more fit neither internationals will make him more injury prone. If he has to get injury, he can get it even in domestic. So let him play and use him wisely in short spells initially.

But Stephen Fleming is considered as one of the greatest captains in the history of cricket :--D. ..Dhoni is a very defensive captain,this is what I have learnt over the years.

1) That Ishant Sharma is at all in the SAF tour team .. is the question being raised. He is always capable of occasional good performances followed by many more bad ones. Yet, his inconsistency is not being recognized. Nobody expects him to be dropped in this test after his 4 wicket haul in the last. It is his inclusion in the tour team that is the issue. He was kept as the additional 16 th player in the WI series at the special request of Dhoni. Why really ? 2) Zaheer's inclusion in this test after a heavy workout in the last one for an unfit 35 yr. old is another issue that will be raised. Some might agree , some might not but it is a discussable point. 3) If bad performances are due to either bad bowlers/ bowling or bad batters/ batting then where do the captain/coach come in ? Is it so simple. There are always the questions of motivation, team spirit, the mindset of the batters and bowlers due to the tactical decisions and selections of the team management , the tactical decisions themselves etc. Otherwise , what is the use or importance of a captain ?
