Tall lanky bowler alternatives for the legend of Ishant Sharma

Who are the alternatives? Need to be tall, lanky, good skills and 135-ish or better 140 pace. Pankaj Singh (is he 135+???) Ishwar Pandey (is he just 130+??) Do they extract bounce from short of good length? Who else are tall, lanky in Domestic scene? (and with skills to extract bounce from short of good length). Please bcci, please - send these guys to county cricket or A-tours in away countries. Is there anyone with a 138-140 pace? rkt dig through your domestic diaries!

Tall and lanky isn't necessarily a requirement. Steyn isn't tall or lanky ;) Being tall definitely helps though, but if we can get someone tall and strong it would be perfect.

Not a reqmt, per se. Looking for variety in the attack. Umesh Yadav, Aaron, Shami are not too tall. ZK - is more skills. But gonna retire very soon. Ishant Sharma - waste of space. No Brains. Some tall lanky who can EXTRACT steeple bounce from short of length can be good option - ofcourse, needs skills and 135+ pace to trouble intl batsman - not just his height. Which is why I havent said "Indian team", but county cricket and more A-tours. Lets see.

Its like saying we need a left arm seamer so we include unadkunt, thanks but no thanks!!! Aussies destroying england with Johnson, Harris and Siddle. None tall and lanky. 2 are very fast and one decent pace. Put Yadav, aaron and shami and we have attack to replicate that and do very very well.

In the long run, teams that have done really well have a good variety in their bowling attack. Left armer, a tall hit the deck, a good swing bowler, offie or leggie spinner variety. Right now - India does not have that luxury - agreed. If we can get A DECENT BOWLER we will lap it up.

Take care of Shami, he can be the deal. Has shown signs. Don't let him go the wrong route. If they are injured, hopefully they are treated and take care of in similar manner as our batsmen are. I know how well BCCI takes care of our batsmen. They send them to rehab, NCA etc, check on them a lot. Hopefuly they do same things on bowlers. Any player who played even a single ODI for India or test match, deserves some special attention from BCCI. I don't know how well Varun Aaron was taken care by BCCI. These guys, when injured should be kept special eye on and made sure they recover fast and well and aren't raced in.

Point is only pick players who are genuinley good enough. As if say o want tall bowlers and leftie the suddenly we have attack with unadkunt and ishant in it If there is no decent tall or leftie, then no way should we play one just for sake of it AAron, Yadav and shami is way forward Yadav is the variety in serious pace

Variety is helpful only when choice among similar quality is available. I too would be inclined to play Umesh and Aaron together if Aaron is fit. Shami's choice is a no brainer. If Aaron is unfit then I will go for Pankaj or Pandey, whoever is bounciest.

Indian bowlers have to have one English season atleast to develop overall as a bowler.

Pankaj Singh as tall if not taller then Ishant and saw him bowl at ave 138 k, Pandey is tall and bowls around 135 k, A Choudhury a left hander from Rajasthan is pretty tall with a high arm action and hits the deck at 134 k, all three have done very well in the domestic circuit and especially Pankaj, Pandey are ready to play for India.

We should pick our best bowlers no matter how tall they are.u can have variations as backup to use in specific conditions.
