Instead of keeping the same old failures you need to give chances to new ones. You have a decent pacer in Shami, now need to find two more. NZ series should be used as a scouting chance before touring England and Australia again.

He is the best wicket keeper batsman we have in the whole country. So no point in removing him from the team. But yes, I would appoint Kohli as a captain for NZ tour and see how he goes. Ofcourse Dhoni will help him with his inputs in the field, like Dravid & Ganguly did when they were playing under MSD.

It will better to find some other keeper who is technically good and can bat in all conditions. Dhoni is as good as a tailender in tests outside sub-continent.

I agree that this series shouldn't be compared to 0-8 but this is a really long rope to someone who got creamed in England & Australia in all formats and then a series loss to England at home which is equal to losing 0-8 overseas. I am and never was a big fan of Dhoni 'The Test Captain'.
