The only time you are likely to get a wicket in a tests is when you attack. Dhonis relies on opponent to make a mistake. This approach works in odis and T20s but in tests you got to have a attacking field. I am starting to believe Dhoni hasn't got in him to win a test series. We need a noobistic kind of person for tests. Someone like Gambhir.

test captain should be a young one like pujara/kohli. Both have handled media well, both can be aggressive and both want the team to win. Dhoni waits for mistakes whereas we need someone who can use the resources given to him. Kohli did well in using his pacers in the Zim tour. He wanted wickets, same in WI.

Easily drawable test if we had applied ourselves in the second innings, some unlucky decisions but I guess these are part and parcel of the game. I think 334 was not par score on this ground, which did not help the bowlers much inspite of overcast conditions. Steyn was too much for our lower order batsmen. India should have scored around 450 after reaching 198/1 at one stage, then they would have put pressure on SA. With a score of 334, our second grade bowlers were always going to struggle to get a lead, but for Jadeja's impressive spell, SA would have made 600+ on this ground. Dhoni not using the new ball exposes him as a captain with a defensive mindset and this is going to cost us many matches in future.

When your 'premier' bowler is bowling 125 kph after having the opposition on the field for 1.5 days, then you know something is wrong. ZAK is done. Time to move on.

You are clueless. Daredevils never picked Suyal. He played for MI and was picked by Madan Lal when he came from Uttarakhand to Delhi and played for his academy.
I can't recall the source, but remember vaguely that Sekhar tried to get him into the Daredevils squad in the first edition, I think in 2008, but could not get him into the final squad. Let us say even if I am wrong, is that the way you go about commenting about others - clueless. I don't want to stoop to your level to give a retort, in the future just ignore my comments.

clueless just means you are not talking about it correctly or information is wrong not really offensive tbh

Even the most experienced lot bungled it big time in SA by not applying. Even in Zimbabwe against Zimbabwe our seniors have bungled it. India could have shown some resoluteness. But i expect this line up to do a much better job than the previous generation in crunch situations overseas. Pujara, Kohli, Rahane all 3 look real fighters under crisis. Vijay played his part. If Rohit and Dhawan support these guys we will be good. Dhoni can't say much .. as he is a savior of India many times in one dayers, but inexplicably goes hiding in Tests. If only Ashwin finds a way to get wickets overseas then we will have a solid, fighting line up.

Bowling needs to be completely revamped. Zaheer doesn't have the penetration. Ishant continues to be poor man's Mohammad Sami. Bhuvi and Umesh have been mis-managed instead of being used selectively. One of our spinners is a total dud in alien conditions while other spinner is a total dud with bat. Shami is new and will get better.

Entirely Everyone who watches cricket is aware of our shortcomings and what we need to do except for Dhoni and selectors who has blamed our batters for the loss, what bunch of mor0ns:finger:
