1st Test 1st inn Kohli 119 3rd inn Pujara - 153 Kohli - 96 4th inn Faf - 134 Abdv - 103 2nd Test Vijay 97 Pujara 70 Kallis 115 Rahane special ! 47 / 51 & 96 :hatsoff:

From an Indian POV, both Kohli and Pujara did well in 3 out of 4 legit innings - Kohli was NO in one, and Pujara was unfairly run out in the other. As for Rahane, apart from that one failure he was amazing too. All three deserve kudos for scoring 200+ runs in a 2 test series.

All o them were good' date=' but I found FAF's 134 and Kallis' 115 and Pujara's 153 a notchabove the rest. Although Kohli's 119 was pretty special as well.[/quote'] In terms of individual knocks, I agree. However, Kohli's twin special was the best batting performance of a match IMO.

Kohli's 119 was the most special. First test for young team, he had just gotten Pujara out and the rest of the players weren't really scoring much, he set the tone for the innings to come. Hit a brilliant 119 facing Steyn and Morkel and their best including Philander.

Yeah, but given the circumstances, he had to play that way :P. Yes, you might say he was being a bit too overcautious for his 100, but you'd give that leeway to a man of that stature, playing probably his final innings :)

Post mortem of second test We were 181/1 by the end of first day , yet we have lost this test.. If you were skipper, what would you have done differently? We should have definitely shown some fight in the second day, especially our tailenders didn't show any fights and playing like a t-20 match. Could we have taken the new ball on third day morning and tried to get Steyn out rather than waiting Saffers to make mistake with the old ball ? Dhoni and Jaddu giving wicket to Robbie peterson who didnt turn a single ball ? Probably Jaddu should be told if he doesnt show grit in his batting, he has no place in the team..

just need 2-3 easy fixes shant goes out yadav comes in zack goe out and bhuvi comes in in england and newzealand if pitches are green or one person who i really rate highly pandey.. batting wise we flopped cos of mini collapses we had cos of rohit sharma and ms dhoni.. in long run either rohit will perform or he will be replaced by some one who will and dhoni is here to stay till world cup so cannot fix that . also expecting tailenders to do much here is just wrong when specialist batsmen like rohit and dhoni are struggling..also some decisions were against us might have been difference between 150 to get in last inning in final 25 overs and what we actually got ..truth s we fought hard tried our best but they were just better..

Interesting hearing dhobi talk in post match presentation Praising Kallis and said was fast, he was saying that he bowled over 140 and even in last few years bowled 132 plus. Is dhoni finally realising the value of speed as openly here talking about the speeds Kallis bowled and praising fact he was fast. Is he sending messaage to selctors that need pace. Never heard dhobi praise fast bowlers and talk about their actual speed

Not interested about the postmortem of this series but if India have to win test series abroad they need to change their mindset. Please note there are tough overseas tour coming up this year - England and Australia. God forbid, if we get whitewashed again it will have a massive impact on our World cup chances. Make no mistake India will still be a very potent side at home but in order to become competitive overease they need to go for horses and courses. We need to play with 3 genuine quick bowlers, who can bowl 145 kph throughout the match. Umesh, Pandey and Shammi will be pace bowling attack in NZ and Australia. In England, I might play Bhuv Kumar as it assists swing there and see if he can pull a Praveen Kumar there. Zaheer must retire. Ishant,Mohit Sharma and any other trundlers should only play in India. I would not play 7 batsman specially when Ashiwn is no mug with the bat. That is stupidity and I will drop Rohit & play both Jaddu & Ashwin. We also need to give a stick on Dhoni's back and ask him to change his mindset in test cricket.

Ishant' date=' Tahir, Zaheer, Morkel, Jadeja - what is common between them. They all average below Rohit sharma :hehe:[/quote'] More like ms dhoni.

Kallis is 38 and clocked 130+ regularly, Zak should just give up. Not his first tour to SA, not like he wasn't prepared as well, had enough work out in Ranji and lost steam after 1st innings in Jo'burg.
