adi B Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 We got a Solid middle order. This is really lethal LINE up with players like - Rohit - Raina - Kohli - Dhoni. One of the strongest batting line up for a twent20. I belive we will go as favorties. lol this is WT20 not ipl.. the fact is whichever batsmen we select should be in form, kohli, raina, nohit, dhawan are ideal t20 players in the line up..we need a new captain who can be extragavent,i'll try nohit, dhoni should not be selected nor should ashwin, pishant, vinee etc these are all garbage t20 players.. bowlers should be new like bhuvi, aaron, umesh, shami, shukla, pandey, rahul sharma,jadeja.. no point in going to the wt20 with tried and tested failures
Old guy Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Lucky wickets? Ishant would jump onto them None of our bowlers know how to regularly pick wickets in T20, so I will not mock the wickets Bala and Dinda have taken in T20Is for India. there is a difference between bowling well and not getting wickets and bowling crap and getting wickets ishant does not even bowls well so that is another thing but you cannot expect consistency with luck or winning matches with luck its called fluke and any one who follows cricket can tell you if bowler is good or not he is not our best bowler he is guy who bowled filth after filth in middle overs and got smashed but got some wickets of slog not a type of bowler you want to play in world cup
SLICKR392 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Yuvi has been decent in T20s. Tambe or Harbhajjan would be a better choice over Aswhin.
ThePhenomenal1 Posted January 6, 2014 Author Posted January 6, 2014 I would really laugh (and cry) if ishant, the guy who conceded 30 runs in an over, is selected for a t20 wc. Ideally, you need pace and control so india has some options after nz tour. I want fresh legs and new faces for the t20s. Keep some faces like rohit and dhawan, kohli, raina, maybe yuvi. Kohli or rohit as captain.
vvvslaxman Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 1) Dhawan 2) Rohit 3) Kohli 4) Yuvraj 5) Raina 6) Dhoni 7) Jadeja 8) Yusuf 9) Bhuvan (vice captain) 10) Shami (captain) 11) Aaron
vvvslaxman Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Yuvi has been decent in T20s. Tambe or Harbhajjan would be a better choice over Aswhin. yea. He can slog as well. Him or Yusuf as 5th bowler.
Gollum Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Drop Dhobi, Ashwin and Raina and our results will automatically improve. CSK mafia ruining Indian cricket. Dhoni I believe doesn't even have a T20 50 and the less we talk about Asswin the better.
G_B_ Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 The fact is that Indian dont even have good T20 spinners. Have a look at Ashwin and Sir's T20 record.
CG Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 After 3 back to back wc losses ,we go to another with the same kaptan.
div Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 The fact is that Indian dont even have good T20 spinners. Have a look at Ashwin and Sir's T20 record. Bhajji and Shahbaz Nadeem :agree:
SLICKR392 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Bhajji and Shahbaz Nadeem :agree: Tambe's better than Nadeem. Mishra or Bhajji wouldn't be a bad bet in T20 either. Ashwin needs a break to amend his bowling.
G_B_ Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 The fundmental weakness remains that India just dont play enough t20 as a team. you need to respect every format. The BCCI clearly does not think highly of T20 international cricket. In the IPL they get a big fat franchise fee. I mean think about it lets compare international ODIs to T20. Both these two formats rely on advertising revenue. In ODIs the break between innings is 40 minutes. In T20s the break between innings is barely 10 minutes. Fine people prefer watching T20s. But when exactly do the advertisers get time to make money during the game? Barely 20 minutes in a 3.5 hour game.
G_B_ Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 and just to highlight how the bcci dont care 2014 T20 WC we are touring NZ and playing 5 odis followed by 2 tests and then we head to BD. No T20s. 2015 WC we are playing a test series followed by a month of tri series cricket with England and Aus. That has to be the best prep ever from the BCCI.
Vijy Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Our team cares more about the Champions League and the IPL than the world T20 cup. With most of our players so spread across the IPL sides, a lack of understanding and unity may also be hurting them.
alexander Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 In Asian conditions, India will be dangerous. Spinners will come into play - and they have plenty of FTBs to score heavily. Seam bowling may be a worry. In Asia, 160 seems to be a par score - so having bowlers who can defend that is important. I fancy WI to retain the title.
Vijy Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 WI will do well, since Narine will click. However, their batting has dipped in Tests, which may not have much of an impact on T20s - then again, it may too. I don't see WI winning again.
alexander Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 If the big guys are all fit and firing, on flat decks, WI will be dangerous. They have clever T20 bowlers in Narine, Rampaul et al and powerhouse batting with Pollard, Gayle, Samuels, Simmons, Sammy. For me, they are the most complete T20 side.

He can be highly destructive on his day.
mancalledsting Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 like it or hate it- this will be the likely team for the WT20: Dhawan Rahane Kohli Rohit Raina Dhoni Jadeja Ashwin B Kumar Shami Aaron/Umesh Ishant to come in for injection of pace for the 2nd game
