Shameful, really that except for attacking established players and wishing everyone bowled as fast as Lee, you contribute little. PS: I dont think we have to worry about the next Indian captain- Dhoni is the man for the job for the next 4-5 years and I believe he is the best option we have. Kohli might get eased into it in the future when he is pushing 30 but till then, we need Dhoni. Yes, he is limited- he is unimaginative with his field placements and rotates his bowlers poorly. But on the plus side, he is one of the rare Indian captains who has not had his performance shot to pieces due to pressures of captaincy. Be it Azhar, Tendulkar, Ganguly or Dravid, one thing Dhoni has over them is that his own performance does not seem to suffer despite the burdens of captaincy. And for that, we can only be thankful. For if the next guy follows the 'classic desi pattern' of being 60% as good as non-captaincy years, then we are gonna be royally screwed if Dhoni is removed anytime soon, for it means we get 60% of Virat or Pujara. His performances have suffered in test level and t20.the age which he is now he should be at his peak rather he is struggling away and his keeping against pacers has gotten worse with time.without captaincy he might be a better keeper and batsman. We are already screwed away and at home we will win under most captains if we prepare turners.their is no guarantee that kohli or pujara performance will suffer .

Ask Virat, Pujara or Rohit or for that Gambhir if they would like to lead India right now and they will lap onto it with glee. In fact with a younger captain, this young team will get a lot more leeway from the media and the fans. Imagine a team led by Kohli or Puraja fighting so well in SA and ultimately losing 1-0? Don't think the captain or the team will be questioned at all. Dhoni is being questioned because despite showing some improvement, he continued to repeat some of the older mistakes from 8-0 (poor batting by himself, sticking to same plan fr far too long, questionable team selections and the apparent lack of intensity by the team on the field etc).

He picked Sharma because he is tall, fit and got fair bit of pace and experience.. There is no pacer in the country who is an 'automatic-pick' at the moment.. He doesnt have that luxury that other country has.. I am actually glad he is open to try new pacers... now Pandey and Aaron got a chance in NZ. Also, I would have hated him if he had picked Ashwin for 2nd test after failing in 1st.. but he didnt.. so he is not selfish to promote his players.. he picks the team to win..

He has collected most of his 50+ test caps under Dhoni’s captaincy despite getting progressively worse year by year. Dhoni has his favourites in the Long Rope Club which means you always play irrespective of form or ability.

How will we get to know who are the proven options, if Ishant and Zak continue to play? Give the likes of Pankaj Singh 50+ tests and then we'll know who'd have the better stats. TINA is a specious line of reasoning. Yadav has a much better Test record than Ishant for instance.

Exactly. This desi pattern is going to be around forever. Lets say Kohli or Pujara takes over the leadership, they would be given a phainty after every single match, let alone a series and those noble words followed by it, 'anyone but not him'. Dhoni is certainly not the best Test captain around but his successor isn't going to turn the world around either. The rotation of players and being partial to certain inviduals has been a norm in Indian cricket and at some points, world cricket as well. These sort of Indian fans mentality over their players, captain and the team is going to be around forever. At time, they go way too far with their criticism and rant out some gibberish conspiracy followed by some obnoxious and baseless statements which every captain will have to cope with. The funniest part is fans trying to claim that so and so captain would have brought a revolutionary change to our bowling attack, while they fail to understand that it has always sucked and until some point it will continue to do so. Yes, Dhoni totally sucks when it comes to assembling a good fast bowling line up, but a new captain won't be making much difference either. I agree with MTC, Dhoni has gone stale, its certainly time for us to pick a new guy to lead us it Test but this trend of bashing captains after every single game is going to continue.

He is referring to u as dhoni fanboy.he believes in rohit dharma and Ishant sharmas talents .they have got a longer rope .ishant has been struggling since 2009,but still he is persisted which does harm to both Ishant and Indian team.dhoni played Ishant in Odis,

He won't be having a godfather helping him, poor man.
