Aka the so called coach and captain Well the Dumber feels that he can't run away from responsibilities just because he is losing and if some one is there who can captain the Test side he will be happy to hand over the leadership to him :haha: .But thats the one thing which bothers me what does Fletcher do when we concede runs in every game and when we lose early wickets seriously what does he think at that moment that always bothers me.
BeautifulGame Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Frankly Zak is done and dusted he should call it a day then the dropped chances didn't help either perhaps thats what happens when the team is losing all the times the intensity drops down and you just go through the motions. Don't think intensity has anything to do with slip catch . Some of the outfield catches we took in this test were truly amazing. Think slip catching needs a bit of experience because of the bounce. Remember dravid once saying slip caring in overseas as conditions is totally different to India and takes time getting adjusted to that.

He is just trundling in at 125k and doesn't seem to put a lot of body in his action either. As a result, he is not getting any bounce or pace off the pitch. A slow bowler like him can never trouble international quality batsmen, no matter what the conditions are. He has looked lackluster since 2nd innings of 1st test against SA but Dhoni is just incapable of learning from mistakes and just keeps doing the same things over and over. :mad: How can you not even have common sense to get the basic things right ? Grrrrr, I'm so mad. Umesh or even Pandey or B Kumar would have put so much more pressure on them.

The players are non performers and his cronies are getting support regardless, look at the comments from , Vijay, Jadeja, Ishant, no pride and are satisfied with their failures or in their eyes how they performed lol, I have for the first time in my life stopped watching indian cricket and this is the worst I have seen in last 2 decades.

fineleg Posted February 7, 2014 Author Posted February 7, 2014 Wasn't Test series in SA supposedly tougher than in NZ? We have done decently well (despite 0-1) in Test series in SA. At least from batting perspective we did not "cave in" to SA's super attack of Steyn, Morkel and Philander. Can we at least do equal or bit better in NZ against Southee, Wagner and Boult, Anderson? I mean - surely Steyn+Morkel+Phil >> this NZ attack. Our batsmen should do better against NZ, but at the moment, does not appear so. We did good in SA series (Tests), and it felt good that our batsmen (Vijay, Chepu, Kholi, 'batsman'-Ashwin, Rahane) did well, we felt proud that our batsmen withstood the super SA attack, so hoping it does not disappear so soon.
youngindia Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 there was damage done in the first overs we could have done without...maybe dhawan and pujara were slightly overanxious and played shots too early.. also Vijay got a tough delivery....if Vijay had not got that delivery,probably we would have been on par with nz at this stage,. the basic fact is the first 25 overs are a challenge with the conditions and kookaburra ball. the difference was the SA were miserly and gave nothing away in this phase.they were thrashed only when they got tired(but in the second test bad light played villain and steyn reversed us out the second day morning)..nz certainly give lot more chances for scoring and lack some experience and class...I feel confident we will get on top of them gradually . in one dayers the batsmen are struggling to push things over 5-6 rpo in the first 25 overs and losing the matches and that is a issue . but the first 25 over swill always be tricky and we had too much damage in the first 10 overs today as far as bowling is concerned, we are paying the price for the demise of sreesanth,rps and irfan...inexperience is an issue along with the decline of zaheer and slow growth of ishant

Many top quicks , like Holding, Roberts, Jeff Thomson, retired after 50 or 60 tests. Also, what is your opinion about his average of 38 + and strike rate of 69 ? So, you think a 5 wicket haul every 15 tests or so, is good enough ??
