Will India chase down 407 or will New Zealand bowl India out? Just starting a poll to see how many here believe India could win this match. Practically speaking, India have to chase 320 more runs with 9 wickets in hand and 2 full days left, which is possible, but it looks highly unlikely that India would be able to score that much here. What we know for sure is that a result will come out of this match. New Zealand are clear favourites to win.

I will give massive credit to Shami. I don't know how many of you guys watched Shami bowl in the second innings but he was superb. He bowled very accurately at high pace of 137 to 144 k throughout, did not drop pace even while bowling his 9 th over on the trot. Moved the ball both ways, both swing and seam. His 3 wickets, along with one run out and one by Zak, basically removed their top order and put them under tremendous pressure. Combination of accuracy and pace can be lethal and Shami showed it. Even in the first innings, Shami was good but was unlucky. He improved upon it in the 2nd.

Shami was good in first innings too at least till lunch, could easily have got 2-3 wickets in that period like today. After that, they were all poor and suddenly bowling short. They just lacked patience when McCullum started to throw his bat around after lunch and tried too many things rather than sticking to the right line and length for these conditions.

Thing is , only Shami, among these 3 quicks, has the pace to use the continuous short ball strategy. If we want to use it, we need quicks like Umesh, Aaron. Preferably someone who is tall as well as quick.

Will be bowled out for around 250, though could be lesser if the ball does something tomorrow morning. Bowlers did well today, but the abject performance of the first innings from both bowlers and batsmen is too horrible to recover from. So a likely 10th defeat in 11 overseas Tests from the country and board that wants to control world cricket. Might have all the money but Srinivasan and Dhoni's team is a laughing stock in the Test arena.
