TheWall Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Fatwin should quit and start coaching immediately...
putrevus Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 If he thinks he can chuck and become second murali then he would be wrong. Murali chucking or no chucking could turn the ball a mile .
rkt.india Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 If he thinks he can chuck and become second murali then he would be wrong. Murali chucking or no chucking could turn the ball a mile . No. Murli before chucking doosra was not that effective. He used to be thrashed by Siddhu and Ganguly at will in mid to late 90s and at the start of 2000s, he developed doosra and he started chucking blatantly even his off spinners.
Switchblade Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 R Ashwin’s new action screams louder than his bowling figures http://indianexpress.com/article/sports/cricket/r-ashwins-new-action-screams-louder-than-his-bowling-figures/99/ Ravichandran Ashwin had a wicket with the first ball he bowled on Wednesday. It came off a flighted delivery that Mominul Haque inside-edged onto his pads with the ricochet getting to Dinesh Karthik who smartly broke the stumps before the batter could react. Ashwin couldn’t have imagined a better start to his spell, you would have thought, especially considering the drought of wickets that has plagued his bowling in recent times. It wasn’t his early success, however, that took everyone by shock. Instead it was his drastically changed bowling action. India’s premier off-spinner has had a tendency to employ different actions in Test and ODI cricket. Here at Fatullah, though, he had opted for a complete makeover. If anything it looked like a taller, heftier version of Sunil Narine was in action donning India colours. Ashwin might not have managed any trademark Narine doosras, but a few of his deliveries did leave the Bangladeshi right-handers. Just for the record, he was also operating with full sleeves on. The change in action had come out of nowhere. There were no hints of it in the nets during India’s practice session on the eve of their Asia Cup opener. In fact, Ashwin hardly bowled and seemed more keen on working on his batting skills. Replicating Narine in a bid to get back to wicket-taking ways might come across as a desperate move. But the desperation is understandable. It was also an indication of the 27-year-old’s muddled state of mind. Desperate measure? From being his country’s lead spin exponent, Ashwin’s stocks have dipped rapidly over the last couple of months. While he’s already lost his place in the Test XI to Ravindra Jadeja, his ODI returns in South Africa and New Zealand were nothing short of disastrous — two wickets put together in eight matches at an average of 198 apiece. Ashwin’s long-time coach Sunil Subramaniam for one had seen it coming. He had made his apprehensions regarding his ward’s fast dipping fortunes public following the ODI series in New Zealand. “He has lost his way a bit. But this is a technical thing. Perhaps, the team thinks he is a sorted-out guy and someone who can handle himself. They keep overstating that fact that he will take care of himself. But that’s not how spin bowling works,” Subramaniam had said. On Wednesday, Subramaniam is likely to have been one of the many to have cringed at Ashwin’s latest delivery style, more so after he had only last month pointed out the deficiencies that had crept into the Tamil Nadu offie’s original bowling action. “There is no body in his action. He is just bowling from his hands. How can you expect to take wickets,” Subramaniam had lamented. Though he conceded only two boundaries — a six and a four — against Bangladesh, he rarely had the likes of Mushfiqur Rahim in any discomfort. Even his altered style of delivery didn’t see him flighting the ball more and hitting a fuller length like his coach would have liked him to. Despite the encouraging start, he eventually ended up with the not-so-impressive figures of 1/50 in his 10 overs.

Blue Star Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 The scientific tests suggests that you are talking utter crap. They didn't test him in any actual match you fool. He is no fool to chuck with the testing equipments on his body in a scientific laboratory. Warne called for testing murali with testing equipments in an actual test matches, and murali called Warne " a miserable man" for suggesting it.
Blue Star Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 AN IRATE Muttiah Muralitharan has branded Shane Warne a "miserable man" and vowed not to talk to him at the unveiling of the Warne-Muralitharan Trophy in Hobart today. Muralitharan is furious over Warne's recent call for the Sri Lankan's controversial bowling action to be re-tested. Warne believes the International Cricket Council should devise a method to test the elbow flexion of bowlers during matches, as opposed to the current practice of laboratory testing. Muralitharan last year consented to voluntary testing of his action at the University of Western Australia, and was found to bowl with an elbow flexion of 14.4 degrees, just within the ICC's legal limit. Critics, though, believe laboratory tests fail to simulate match conditions, prompting Warne's comments. Muralitharan is convinced he is being unjustly persecuted by Warne, whom he suspects is merely upset that his Test wicket-taking record is about to be eclipsed. The Sri Lankan requires just seven more wickets to pass Warne's mark of 708, and could do so in his last Test appearance on Australian soil, beginning at Bellerive Oval tomorrow. "I am very disappointed with what he said," Muralitharan told the Herald yesterday. "He can't keep his mouth shut because he wants to keep making these comments. He must be a miserable man in his life. But that is his opinion and there is nothing I can do about it. "Maybe he just doesn't want me to pass his record. Why else would he keep saying these things? I will shake his hand [at the ceremony to unveil the Warne-Muralitharan Trophy] and go straight off the field instead of trying to be friendly." Muralitharan was also critical of Terry Jenner, Warne's long-time mentor, who also called for the spinner's action to be tested in match conditions. "Terry Jenner played cricket a long time ago and cricket is very different now," he said. "So it doesn't matter what he says. But Jenner and Warne are still always commenting, commenting, commenting … it makes them feel important." Feelings between Warne and Muralitharan have often been tense, but the Sri Lankan's latest riposte is likely to sink relations to an all-time low. http://www.smh.com.au/news/cricket/shut-it-shane-you-miserable-man-murali/2007/11/14/1194766770710.html
adi B Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 he should only concentrate on test cricket and work on his off spin variations rather than changing his action.better play new bowlers like rahul, rasool, kuldeep etc in odis,t20s than a fecked up ashwin.. now that he has decided to bowl with this action, lets see how fares in this tournie,he was getting decent turn and bounce and yeah chuck at will!!
Square Drive Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 And when u have that Rayndu guy to back him up with his own amazing bowling action India's got quite an entertaining bowling attack now. To make it even better the one bowler that really missing for me is that kangaroo like jumping guy :cantstop: Danda or Binda or something. Pls call him back Indian selectors. All three got interesting names to go with their bowling styles as well :hysterical: One thing is good in this action. He doesn't wait to eat 5 vada paws :cantstop: :hysterical:

Poor Shane Warne caught got up in being politically correct. He did diss him once saying his wickets comprised of Zim and Bangbros mainly.
ThePhenomenal1 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 his original action in the world cup had body movement didnt it?
ThePhenomenal1 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 thats what happens when you rely on rank turners to get wickets
rajmarie Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Ashwin cant pick wickets even if he adopt Murli action. & unfortunately....he will stay with this team till WC 2015. Then will disaster happens...then BCCI will ask selectors to finally drop him for good.
SLICKR392 Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 his original action in the world cup had body movement didnt it? That's something a ex player had pointed out recently. He doesn't put any effort while bowling nowadays. It has become like Rohit's batting- defensive from the word go.
ravishingravi Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Suffering from the L Balaji effect - he did the same too. Tried to imitate Courtney Walsh Ehh. No. Balaji had an injury and had remodel his action.

If a player culd bowl without chucking, the same deliveries at same speeds, why should they chuck in match situations? On the other hand had anyone checked other bowlers in match situations to say that they are 100% chucking free? Your intelligence defies logic. :finger:

Roshanrocks Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 You guys are taking too much tension over his change of action. Here take this.
