hhunaeh Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I don't understand how people like House of Cards so much - IMO it is the most overrated show in the last 8-10 years. Or maybe its just that I've seen too many fantastic political shows so I don't like it. The old version of House of Cards was much' date=' much better than this one. There Francis Urquhart looked menacing, here they've made Francis Underwood ruthless - doesn't suit the character.[/quote'] after following your great leader's karname your must find house of cards very boring. :giggle:

The old one is based in UK while the new one in US. The political structures in the US make it impossible for Francis Underwood not to be ruthless.
SLICKR392 Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Dang!!! Just finished Season 1 and it was ridiculously awesome! Dark storyline. Neat and, fab acting (obviously). overall, no BS. Loved it! Mcconaughey is terrific!
Zelig Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 is it on Netflix or youtube? Nope. Try alluc.com :roti:
SLICKR392 Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Is it confirmed that McConaughey and Woody Harrelson will not cast in season 2? Such a shame!! Brad Pitt seems to be in the context. I do not think there would be a better character that could match Cohle in the series.

zep1706 Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I absolutely loved it. The intensity of the show is unparalleled and it probably has some of the best acting on TV that I have seen. Although the ending could have been better. It needed a non stereo typical ending.
jonas10 Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Game of thrones is the best show on tv bar none. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
maniac Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Colin ferrel and Vince Vaughn in season 2 wow that's a very intriguing casting....I am in,can't wait
maniac Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 What a waste of time...pathetic,moronic and screwed up show  Just saw season 2....one of the worst TV shows of all time.....Pissed off closure . Fk this show :finger:
zep1706 Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 The second season is easily the worst TV show I have watched. Only continued watching it because I loved season 1 and was hoping that at some point season 2 would get its sh!t together which never happened.
Donal Cozzie Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 All in all a decent season I thought, started slow but finished well. And credit where its due, they had the balls to go for a dark ending, no doubt tonnes of people who cant comprehend an ending without rainbows and sunshine will be outraged though. Nowhere close to season 1, but lets be honest it was never gonna live up to that. Still, a good season I felt, with some top top acting by the main cast, albeit with a standard and somewhat convoluted plot.

Oh is that what the cool,Hip,alternate crowd are saying these days....sure you felt that way :nice: But here is the deal....a story needs a "closure"....that's the whole point isn't it? Investing in a story for 8 weeks and not getting anything in the end really??? For eg;Di Caprio dying in departed was shocking and sad but despite that shock and tragedy, the story still had a closure....so does many Indian movies where the lovers die despite being tragedies, they have what you call a conclusion or climax. 8 weeks you wonder who killed Ben Caspere and the end is like whatever. Lot of other stuff which made no sense as a viewer, felt cheated in investing in those characters and the performances were pretty average. So yes it was a horrible season
zen Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Dark / mature crime / detective series are my favorite. True Detective (S1, haven't watched S2 yet) is definitely among the top series in this genre, however there are other good series as well such as Spiral (French), The Bridge (Sweden/Denmark), The Killing (S1 and S2), Wallander (TV movie like feel), The Fall, etc. .... Other not so dark but good detective series include Luther, Sherlock, Hinterland, Broadchurch, Poirot, Alfred Hitchcock presents, Witnesses (French), etc. Talking about somewhat dark to dark series in general, I liked Daredevil (Netflix), House of Cards (Netflix), Dexter, Hannibal, etc.
vvvslaxman Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Finished season 1. Great acting. There are many stories with such plot line. What makes it better is acting, dialogues. Bit like silence of the lambs and its predecessor Manhunter.
vvvslaxman Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Gotta say.. even though it is a good show it is never going to stick in my memory like Twin Peaks did. That is one heck of a show. Both have similarities. http://www.vox.com/2014/7/30/5950569/11-tv-shows-that-wouldnt-exist-without-twin-peaks-lost-x-files-sopranos-louie-gravity-falls
The Realist Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Season 2 of TD was pretty bad. Convoluted plots that went nowhere, poorly written dialogue, bad pacing & some ropey acting esp from Vaughn and Reilly. If they do a season 3 then it needs some fresh ideas & new thinking as they have exhausted the noir crime tropes.
vvvslaxman Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Law and order, criminal minds, CSI many many crime series have covered all kind of crimes over the years. They have to put lot more effort.
