Gollum Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 FIDE Candidates 2014 underway. Probably the last chance for Anand to redeem himself in view of his steep decline. At 45 he is the oldest player in the tournament, almost double the age of some of the participants. Experts say his career is over. Let us get behind our Bharat Ratna and hope he wins. :isalute: He won his 1st game against the tournament favourite and 2nd best player in the world after Carlsen.

Gollum Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 Imo' date=' vishy shld ve announced retirement after carlson match[/quote'] Before the match Anand had a H2H lead 6-3, the only guy with a positive score against Carlsen.
FischerTal Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 not gonna happen. it will be either kramnik or aronian who wins. btw, any chess fans on ICF? I want to start a club :woot:
FischerTal Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Before the match Anand had a H2H lead 6-3' date=' the only guy with a positive score against Carlsen.[/quote'] anand was in a good position in both games 5 and 6, but he wasnt going for the kill. he played too safe and chose to battle it out in the endgame, where Carlsen is a beast. after that, he was just demoralized
The Outsider Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 not gonna happen. it will be either kramnik or aronian who wins. btw, any chess fans on ICF? I want to start a club :woot: There is an old chess thread for an ICF Chess Championship.

Carlson's stamina and powers of concentration are just amazing. He is going to rule chess world for sometime.

FischerTal Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 vishy draws against topalov. aronian beautifully set up mamedyarov for the queen trap, he will win most likely. swidler should win too if he plays accurately. as of now, kramnik in a good position against karjakin. all in all, a good day of chess
IndianRenegade Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Srinivasan is also the President of the Tamil Nadu Golf Federation and the All India Chess Federation :nervous: Are these positions honorary or does it include a compensation? How can anyone person do all these jobs? In addition to running a business? Multitasking within one full-time job is so hard.
