Objectively, in alphabetical order (last name): 1 wkt = 20 points, 1 run = 1 point; Weightage – Tests : ODIs = 2:1; More points = Better Subjectively, I would go with either Tendulkar or Warne. More likely, Warne because he probably has turned more games on his own esp. in Tests.

Not a joke, but if you look at the "objective" table that I posted his bowling points per innings are 21 (for comparison, Warne has 52). Warne batting points/inn = 16, 5 less than Kalls' bowling points per inn. If Kallis' bowling points per inn were in 30s, I would not have the hesitation in calling him a genuine all-rounder. But never-the-less, Kallis is amongst the great players of his generation

Agree - not in the true sense, but one has to start somewhere (based on generally accepted norms for rating tests higher than other formats, and 400wkts/8000runs in 100 tests) :icflove:

I don't think Kallis will win - although I won't have any complaints if he did, he would be a deserving winner. His stats are simply out of the world, he is highly multidimensional also. I don't think we will see another Kallis any time soon, some one who can accumulate 10,000 runs and 300 wickets. Where Kallis might get penalized is - he does not have too many trademark knocks either in tests or ODIs. And he is perceived to be boring, though I have no problems with his kind of batting in test matches as long as you score plenty of runs and grind down the opposition.
