He tells me that I have the ability to beat the batsman in flight. That’s how I got Ahmed Shehzad and Shoaib Malik out today. In T20 cricket, more variations you have, the more advantageous position you are in,” said Mishra who was adjudged man-of-the-match for his effort of 2/22. The Haryana leggie felt staying positive during his prolonged period at the bench helped him perform. “I was never down on confidence when I was not playing. The key is to remain positive and I tried to shut out negative things. In our team, the good thing is that everyone is told to remain ready as anyone could be called. When you get your chance, you need to grab it with both hands,” he said. Mishra said having done well against Pakistan in the last Asia Cup game also helped him a lot. “It’s always a special feeling to perform against a side like Pakistan. I bowled well against them in the last Asia Cup and that also helped. There is always a pressure of playing against Pakistan but I would never say extra pressure. That is always there when you are representing your country,” he said. He said that during his time at the bench, he has worked really hard to improve upon his fitness. “I have worked on my fitness during the gym sessions. However I don’t agree with the critics that I am slow through the air. I am still working on my bowling talking to the coaches, captain and the senior players.” Mishra has played only two T20 Internationals but has an experience of playing more than 100 (117 T20 matches)in all, with bulk of them coming in the IPL. “Obviously, IPL has helped a lot to improve my bowling having competed with the best batsmen in the world. In fact, most of the talent in Indian cricket is coming through IPL as it is providing an ideal platform to the talented players,” he said.

With him what I have seen is that when the batsman starts to go after him then he becomes clueless he goes for plenty that Nagpur one day comes to my mind and few IPL matches where once they start to go after him he then gets carted around.

That is the problem with leggies. But you need to overcome that should believe he can come back. Honestly Warne has done many times. Staging a come back after being hit around.

Thats why very interested how he does against the Aussies and Westindie he might do well against Westindie but against Aussies not sure plus Lehman was his coach in IPL for 2 years so he might know SRH players strengths and weaknesses.

which is why in this tournament its very handy to have Raina as the sixth bowling option. There will be matches where the leggie is expensive. So you need somebody like Raina to fulfill his quota. Leggies like Mishra and Tambe are doing well in t20 cricket because many batsman are too used to playing finger spinners and dont know how to read the leggie. Cant think of any major team with a leggie now say in test cricket. In the 2011 WC Yuvi and Raina did chip in with the overs.

Not afraid to go for runs in the pursuit of wickets - contrary to all other bowlers during Dhoni's tenure. He's showed up all of India's bowlers who just look to contain and look to protect their economy rates. As Ian Chappel says: "containers belong on ships, not in cricket teams". I feel his approach has rubbed off on the seamers- who now also look genuinely threatening. But true to typical Dhoni philosopy- Ashwin, Raina and Jadeja still have the containing mentality.

yeah but we have kohli to thank. he went for wickets, backed mishra who also looks for wickets. that attitude has come into the team and looks like dhoni agrees to an extent.

Yes. Earlier, after the initial quiet overs of our medium pacers, we would have Ashwin and Jadeja bowling darts. The batsmen would milk them and nicely settle down. Then take the toll in the death overs. Now because Mishra takes wickets, there are always new batsmen towards the end
