Realistically it would be Gambhir. As a fan of him myself, I can say he is not ready for a comeback yet. Zol, IMO. He bats at 3 for Maharashtra, and if IIRC, he opened in the A tours.

He did well in South Africa, failed in NZ. I would give him another series.

This is where we struggled in SA and in NZ too. Even Zak, Ishant, Shami made good use of new ball. new ball is never a problem for us till it swings or seams conventionally. As soon as it stops, our pacers are blunted. Good pace can be handy in that aspect. One thing Indian team needs to work on is prepare the ball for reverse which we have not done too well in both SA and NZ.

Need to get rid of Zak & Ishant badly.Shami,Umesh,BK should be our 3 seamers & Aaron,Pandey in the reserves.Either Ashwin or Jaddu will be in the playing XI & I guess we'll see both of them in the Oval test.

Action 1- to drop Zaheer Khanbcos he is a tired guy now after the first spell and he does try his variations but is still not the same Bowler at all................ Action 2- evn not Pick Buvnesh for Tests as He could just bowl first 6 overs and may not be picked in eleven so why pick him in 16.......Pick 16 to 17 players who r directly competing for being in eleven. Action 3- Support and Train Genuine fast bowlers and PICK Guys Like Shammi, Umesh, Pawan Suyal , Varun Aroon. Suyal too as he is the only left arm fast bowler in contention. Pandey was never rated highly by dhoni that means dhoni is against him so it is no point of picking Pandey when dhoni is not going to play him....my pick of pacers would be.. umesh shammi varun ishant Pawan Suyal and rishi dhawan as pace all rounder. Action 3-

speaking of Zaheer i think he needs to become our bowling coach. like it or not he can communicate with our bowlers well and speak their language and know their bodies. I personally dont mind if zaheer is part of the squad but as a back up bowler who basically acts as the auxiliary bowling coach
