maniac Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Well played Srilanka and above all well bowled but they had their moments in the middle when they looked nervy....shows having good bowlers up front is the key at times. I mean if scoring 130 wasn't bad enough we have mohit and Bhuvan(decent enough) opening the bowling which in itself is like we are defending 30 runs short :mad: They key to defend such totals is to rock the opposition with early wickets or atleast build pressure but these guys are just pathetic :banghead: Can't blame the spinners today,they can only do this much but we need a change in direction with our fast bowling....cliche for Indian cricket but 130 trundlers are not going to cut it.

It's our spinners who helped and that too while bowling first.....India will not able to defend mediocre totals 9 out of 10 times with such opening bowlers....might be a spin pitch but atleast don't bowl buffet balls and loosen the pressure

Doesn't mean we don't need to upgrade our opening bowling, but bringing up bowlers in the context of this loss is just meaningless.

NareshK Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 130 is a cakewalk total against Sri Lanka who are very good against spin. India needed 160 here to put scoreboard pressure. We were on our way to that total before Yuvraj messed it up big time. There are no two ways about it.

What have Steyn etc done this series on these pitches blaming our bowlers who have been really good is stupid
