The champions were decided in the last 4 overs of Indian innings, It doesn't make sense when one team wins all the league matches and semi finals convincingly and loses the final by playing poorly for four overs. The same thing happened in CL 2013 where India has won all the matches including the warm ups and in the finals the match was reduced to 20 overs. Luckily India won it.

A bad bad idea. Its not a triseries or lukhkha tournament . .a final match means the ultimate match, the crowning match. Not a series of duels.

a champion captain will win at all costs regardless of toss. yes losing the toss can be disadvantageous but what about when he won the toss in NZ and lost all matches?! we didnt play positive cricket thanks to dotraj. and dhoni and co promoted dotraj over raina who's arguably our best t20 batsman. New captain, new management that knows what its doing = results. Heck give us someone like the sri lankan coach or an indian coach.

Was it the Pepsi Independece cup that once had a best of three finals? (I think one of the finals was the famous Sachin assault on Saqlain' game). A best of three concept may not be as important for an ODI, but for a format as short as t20, maybe there's some merit to it. India were basically 110/2 after 16 overs yesterday. If they did what most teams do and scored 40 runs off the last 4, we win the game. Unfortunately, we suffered one of the more spectacular choke-jobs in the history of ICC knockouts and could only manage 130 (which was essentially game over by then). A 15 minute stretch of under-par cricket should not cost a team a tournament. At least for the semis and finals, a best of three may not be a bad idea. It is likely to add 7-10 days to the tournament but then, given that all the semi finalists are going to be high quality teams anyway, it is likely to produce good cricket.

In world tournaments,best of 3 is not the way to go.....You are Expected to bring in your A game to a final,if you choke or have an off day then bad for you. If anything the D/L or rain rule has to be changed to make sure all deserving teams are in the knock outs. In Soccer there has never been an undeserving winner in a WC,there has never been a fluky grand slam winner, and I will say right now in cricket too every team that has won a major tournament thoroughly deserved it but stupid political issues and D/L puts a stigma on the winners or teams that over-achieved which is not fair. In 96,SL won the WC fair and square but a couple of teams boycotted their games due to political reasons....similarly in 2003 Kenya and Zim sneaked in to the next round due to the same boycott B.S Pak's 92 victory and SL current T20 WC win will have a lot of woulda,coulda shoulda due to the stupid D/L rule. No I am not advocating they are undeserving,they thoroughly deserved the win by outplaying the opponent and bringing in their A Game but some rules and situations need to be avoided in major tournaments
