SLICKR392 Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Maxwell legs will start shaking when he is Dinda jump & headband :--D This is going the be the battle of the season.
I6MTW Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Maxwell might get out before Dinda is brought into the attack. Looked out of form last match.
PBN Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Team's winning so there's unlikely any changes in the batting but 2-3 slots are open in my opinion. Pujara, Saha, and even Bailey's spot are up for grabs. All 3 are doing ok in one deparatment or the other. Pujara's been giving stable starts here and there and it's been working so far as others have clicked in maximizing the run rate. Bailey's fielding has been an asset, he's still not been tested in the batting so far. Saha's a good wicket-keeper though so that's working in his favor. Vohra/Mandeep at the top and Gurkeerat can come in the middle order. Though I don't see any changes soon as the team's been winning.

I6MTW Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Don't know which team to support in KXIP vs CSK match. Will probably support KXIP. CSK needs a break for a couple of years, and fixing should be investigated, before I support them.

Ram Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Ok, Punjab has won too many games to not be looked at and analyzed seriously at this point in time. If you want to predict (at least with some sense of surety) the kind of success a T20 team is likely to have, the first thing to do is not look at their strong points, but what their weak links are. After all, it only takes 20 mins of mediocre cricket by a single player to flip a game entirely on its head (Hint hint – Yuvraj Singh during the t20 finals. :((). Without a shadow of doubt, bowling is Punjab’s weakest suit. Punjab’s core bowling is almost exclusively made of Indian professionals (with the exception of Johnson). They are average, but by no means formidable. Teams can target them big time. Sandeep Sharma, Rishi Dhawan, Akshar Patel are all young guys who are likely to melt when put under the hammer of some belligerent batting. Balaji is predictable, but he can be taken apart also. But clearly, their power-packed middle order is their biggest asset. But I will go to the extent of saying that if Punjab wants to have a meaningful shot at the title, Virender Sehwag needs to fire. If Sehwag succeeds, it will make Punjab damn near unbeatable, with Maxwell and Miller coming in after him. However, Punjab has gotten off to such an unbelievable start (5-0 record in IPL is no joke. The league is designed to have evenly matched teams), they’re almost already guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. Once they are there, there’s no telling what could happen as it is only a matter of having 2 good games and you are champion. Given Punjab’s frailties with the ball, the likelihood of them suffering from a heavy defeat is not very low. So it is important that they secure the top seed so that when that one bad game hits them in the playoffs, they still have time to recover and reach the finals.
