Hate for Modi goes much beyond political differences. they will continue to sulk for long time to come.
Hate Modi as much as they can. Problem is they are actually, a lot effective in stalling development of India in Indian parliament (rajya Sabha) then any of our arch enemy nation or competitor. They just dont want Modi to succeed in changing India. It is hurting India , Sooner than later even comman man will realise it

modi's image India's image . Modi India.
Its not about Modi's image. Malign him as much as you want, but asking a foreign power to deny visa is a slap on India's justice system which had not found any illegality on Modi's part. Asking US to intervene on an Indian legal issue = slap on India's judiciary = spit on India's image Will the Democrats ever ask India to revoke any Republican's visa, or vice versa? Much less a sitting governor of a US state? The people of India gave a befitting reply to the malicious campaign against Narendra Modi. It was also a slap on countless interventions from West to boycott Modi. The election of Modi as PM has proved that Indian democracy is robust to influence from foreign powers like the US and European governments.

^ comprehension of few people is beyond me. Just a year before we had another PM and nobody bothered to talk about India. at least not as much. there were scams, there was not much progress, ppl like RG and MMS were decision makers. I have never seen these guys making 1 thread a month on them. Now they create dozen every day. What exactly are they trying to say? Most of these guys are worth ignoring. I ignore almost all of them. Not worth my time. As supporters of BJP, we our self should be critical of our mistakes to improve. Country will benefit from it. Honestly, lot needs to happen but steps are taken in the right direction. In about 10 years, we will have massive improvements in education, health and poverty indicators in the country. For us to do social improvements, our economy should be self sustaining. These leftist policies would have taken us to bankruptcy.

Not really. This is a misinformation. BJP did question few projects by MMS, But MMS was in power, both LS and RS. So are you saying MMS was in minority in LS for his tenure?

Some news from padosi media. Hope they stop treating us enemies

NEW DELHI: The Modi government has approved in record time visa to Allama Iqbal’s grandson and two Pakistani scholars of his work to attend a celebration in Kolkata of the poet who penned India’s national song, reports said on Thursday. Accordingly, Waleed Iqbal will represent his father Javed Iqbal at the function on May 29. Iqbal experts Rafiuddin Hashmi and Khalid Nadeem have also been given approval for the visit, which will see them attending functions also to celebrate Rabindranath Tagore, Iqbal’s contemporary and author of India’s national anthem. “The Narendra Modi government has green-signalled Mamata Banerjee’s plans to bring to India family members of poet Muhammad Iqbal, who penned one of India’s favourite patriotic songs and championed Pakistan’s creation,” Kolkata’s The Telegraph reported on Thursday.

Government relaxes FDI norms for NRIs, PIOs, OCI Read more at: http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/articleshow/47374876.cms?utm_source=contentofinterest&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=cppst Investments by overseas Indians won’t count as FDI

New Delhi: Ahead of its first anniversary next week, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government on Thursday undertook an overhaul of the country’s foreign direct investment (FDI) policy rules for overseas Indians. Investments by non-resident Indians (NRIs), overseas citizens of India (OCIs) and persons of Indian origin (PIOs) will now be treated as domestic investment, the government said. They will not be allowed to repatriate the money overseas. Effectively, the NDA has allowed companies operating in regulated sectors to increase foreign investments. This is because overseas Indians now fall outside the FDI ceilings and the space vacated by them can be filled by foreign investors. At the same time, domestic companies can attract investments from overseas Indians without violating foreign investment norms. The underlying thinking is that this could stoke a fresh round of fund flows into the country. In a press statement issued after the cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi signed off on the decision, the government said that for foreign investment purposes, the definitions of OCIs and PIOs are being merged with that of NRIs and NRI investment will be treated as domestic investment. So far, investments by NRIs in only the aviation industry were excluded from the FDI limit of 49%; NRIs were permitted full ownership in the sector. “The measure is expected to result in increased investments across sectors and greater inflow of foreign exchange remittance, leading to economic growth of the country,” the government statement said. “Since the investments made under Schedule 4 (of the Foreign Exchange Management Act) are on non-repatriable basis, it needs to be clearly provided that such investments, for the purposes of FDI policy, are domestic investments,” the government statement added. Although the impact of such a move on capital inflows cannot be gauged precisely, it is a good incentive for NRIs to invest in Indian companies, said Devraj Singh, executive director, tax and regulatory practice, at consulting firm EY. “Since such investments will be made through rupee accounts from India, it would mean permanent FDI, as it cannot be repatriated,” he added. Parliament in March amended the Citizenship Act to merge the PIO and OCI cards, offering benefits like a life-long visa and exemption from appearing before the local police station on every visit. In the past one year, the government has taken a number of measures ranging from policy corrections to bold economic reforms. The government opened rail infrastructure to 100% FDI under the automatic route, and in defence, insurance and pension sectors, the sectoral foreign investment cap was raised to 49%. During the April-February period, FDI rose by 39% to $28.81 billion from $20.76 billion in the same year-ago period. In other decisions on Thursday, the cabinet signed off on the revival of a closed urea unit of Fertilizer Corporation of India Ltd at Sindri, Jharkhand, with an investment of Rs.6,000 crore, and setting up of a new ammonia-urea complex at an estimated cost of Rs.4,500 crore at Namrup in Assam. The setting up of a new unit and revival of closed units will meet growing demand for urea in Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and the Northeast, a government statement said, adding that this will also help the government save on freight subsidy for transport of urea to the eastern region, and create employment opportunities. India presently imports a quarter of its yearly consumption of urea, the most commonly used fertilizer. The cabinet also approved 15 operational flights of the polar satellite launch vehicle (PSLV), the Indian Space Research Organization’s workhorse rocket. The PSLV continuation programme was approved at a cost of Rs.3,090 crore to include the cost of vehicles, programme elements, programme management and launch campaign. The 15 flights would include flights from PSLV-C36 to PSLV-C50, which would carry out the launch of satellites required for earth observation, navigation and space sciences. All the 15 flights would be completed during the period 2017-2020. The cabinet committee on economic affairs also gave an extension till December 2017 for completion of the National Automotive Testing and R&D Infrastructure Project (NATRIP). The project will ensure that state-of-the-art automotive testing, homologation and research and development facilities are made available in India. The project, which was due for completion in December, seeks to set up these facilities across seven locations—Ahmednagar, Silchar, Raebareli, Pune, Manesar, Chennai and Indore. NATRIP missed its completion date due to delays in land acquisition and securing official clearances. Sayantan Bera, Nikita Mehta and Remya Nair contributed to this story.

For government officers, a central deputation usually meant five years in one ministry even if the work allocated changed. That too was not very frequent. But since the Narendra Modi government launched the "midnight massacre" last September, some officers got into the habit of checking the personnel department website after dinner. At times, even ministers have learnt about senior officers being transferred from newspaper reports. The result: Several officers who spent their lifetime in economic ministries are now grappling with social sector issues, while a section has opted to go back to their cadres before the end of their term. Clearly, the rules of the game have changed for babus — be it clocking in at 9am through a biometric attendance system or ensuring offices are clean. Of course, some of the toning up has come at a cost as several senior officers now even work on Saturdays, resulting in junior staff often holding a grudge. In any case, the insistence on office actually starting at 9am has caused a lot of heartburn, which some believe resulted in babus voting for AAP in the Delhi elections. Yet, there is the comfort factor, especially in the economic ministries, as officers don't have to deal with ministers who insist that decisions be taken only in a certain way, which may benefit a company or an individual. With Modi himself interacting with secretaries thrice since he took charge a year ago, there is a perception that the PM can be reached. Some of the secretaries have, in fact, written to Modi directly if they have disagreed with the policy being pushed by their ministers or even the PMO. The flip side is that some secretaries rush to the PMO at the slightest chance, hoping that their efficient ways would be rewarded with a better assignment.

Nice PR article with no mention of the author . Also , to claim without any evidence that inefficient , tardy babus voted for AAP ? Nicely done . T0I becomes the epitome of good journalistic standards when it confirms our preexisting worldview. :haha:
