Vengsarkar doubts India can take 20 wickets in a Test

Dilip Vengsarkar, the former India captain, has voiced concern over the ability of India's bowlers to take 20 wickets in a match during the upcoming England tour. "We will play with four bowlers and out of them you have to have two who can get 10 wickets in a match, and I don't see anyone [capable of] doing it."

The middle order consisting of Dhoni,Jaddu/Ashwin and our headless chicken tail can we score 300 consistently? That is the bigger problem......In the past India's powerful batting atleast drew games when the bowling sucked..

Wont be surprised if Ashwin does exceedingly well with the bat. Dhoni/Nohit are the real concern. Pujara/Kohli/Rahane trinity looks assuring.

We are leaving our best bowler with a SR under 50 home. Umesh may go for a few but he has proved to be a wicket taker in test cricket. Instead of giving him more chances and showing confidence in him, they are leaving him behind. I have lost all my interest in this series since then.

Dhawan, Pujara, Rahane, Rohit have all done well on England A-tours. It will be a big world of difference facing Eng I know but our batting is probably better going in than the last time we toured (which had stalwarts who were past it). Kohli I don't think has been part of any A-team which toured Eng? It will be interesting to see how he fares, so far he's handled bounce pretty well. Time to see how seaming conditions challenge him.

If you include Rahane there is a good chance taking 20 wickets. Odds of him getting direct hits is more than the odds of some of our pie chuckers picking wickets.
