Bumrah is quicker than clock speed suggests as his release point is more forward.  His 147 kph is not the same as Mark wood's 147 kph.

During the pink ball test, the activity in this thread is feeling like a CSK vs SRH match (  in the pre-Umran Malik days ).   

 

Granted the opposition is weak but Matthews, Karunaratne and Dickwella are good batters and so was Nissanka who played the last test.

Feel bad for SL bro lol. They used to be a decent team with some good talented batsman.

This pitch has sufficient bounce and the older ball has reversed consistently ... but the Pakistani specialist pacers have been rather ineffective so far.

Sl have degraded to such a pathetic opposition that the cricket is looking farcical even when there is some skill on display. Iyers batting Bumrah and Shami s bowling have been excellent, but these will not be remembered because of the pathetic nature of the opposition.

You think lahiru could have challenged a bit had he played? 

I do not see Cummins being all that effective in India. It will be hazlewood maybe on pitches like Mumbai. And spin. Agar may trouble us.

You do realize sri lanka always get spanked by india right in India. They have never won a game in India in tests. Even with their goat teams. They have gotten thrashed even with their best sides. Sri Lankas did well only in 2015.

They weren't this bad before. Even in the last series they managed to save the test in Delhi with some resolute batting on the last day. 

Their not winning a test in India ever is well documented.However there used to be some good individual performances. Now they can't bat bowl field or even choose their reviews properly.

Kumara lacks consistency in line and length and ability to read playing conditions that well.

Case of both. India being too good ans ruthless and lanka being poor. The India 2015 side of lanka faced was the weakest version of our team in the post Dhoni era. It laid the foundation. We also thrashed Kiwis 3 0 in 2016 17 and England 4 0 right after. 

 

Had this team faced the 2015 sri lankan side, I guarantee ou the outcome would be 3 0.

The last time Sl toured India for a test series was in late 2017 which was well into the Kohli era. If you check the scorecards you will find there were some good performances from some individuals. Now even that is missing. Shami,Umesh,Ishant,Ashwin Jadeja all played that series.
