Harshit Rana scores 31 and 38 in this match  after his 100+ in the first match.  All scored very fast. There is definitely some batting and hitting ability here. 

 

And he has picked up 2 wickets in the 1st innings.

Cant use express pacer like that. U leash only on batsmen after 5 or 6 down. 

 

At the start only give 2 over spells. 

 

Needs to be protected. 

 

If umran and guys like naseem had braced front foot, hey could touch even higher speeds of 155 plus. Umran has touched it but now he is also bowling only 142-152 in first class cricket.

Shoaib was just a mad one. The other day saw a spell of him against England in Faislabad in a test match with the opposition on 260 odd on a flat pitch. Every bowl in the over was 93-96 mph. Insane.

Shoaib was born to bowl fast. He will be 100 and he will still steam in and bowl thunderbolts.

If Umesh plays domestics,he'll do well too. Infact does well in home Tests too.

 

Though I agree we need young pacers.

Stokes "When you've got someone who can come in and bowl 95mph, it's a massive help. It impacts the game, whether he's taking wickets at one end or they come at the other. Great to see him smiling, running in and bowling rockets."

 

Wood "Stokesy was very clear about my role, bowl short, sharp spells and give it everything I've got."

 

Need such support and role clarity for our express bowlers when they are in the team, especially when the bowler is a young guy. Just tell him to bowl quick and use him in short spells.

Ok - but first two tests Stokes went with grandpa Anderson and his similar version Ollie Robinson. Robinson was here too.....

Shardul Thakur preferred as the 3rd pacer ahead of a proper fast bowler, Saini.

 

We are playing just one fast bowler. Siraj.

 

Dravid / Rohit combo hell bent on promoting medium pacers. 

 

The one good thing Captain Kohli created, a good fast bowling attack in tests, is being dismantled with vigour.
