Really happy to see Shaheen up his pace and hit 91 mph today. Wonderful signs for the ODI worldcup.

the more he ups his pace, the more he is likely to experience another injury and be out of action.

Afridi cannot maintain pace over long periods of time. he is a gun LOI bowler, and that's mostly it. and before someone brings up his test record, let me say that even hassan ali has a good test record, which doesn't make either of them genuinely reliable SENA bowlers.

Whats wrong with him? He is one of the best around atm. A work in progress in the longer format but he has so much to learn.

What is the use of release speeds if he cannot beat kids for pace on a surface where Indian kids were beating batters for pace ?

Must have been pretty poor batting because Hangargekar is a medium pacer at best.

in pakistan, yes and in LOIs, even in the world. don't delude yourself into thinking he is one of the world's best in tests.

since akram-waqar-shoaib, there hasn't been a single pak pacer who took 200+ wickets. all you have are flashes in the pan in the 21st century. even afridi will probably suffer 1-2 major injuries and fade away. people were also hyping mohd aamir a lot when he arrived.

I was hearing that Saim Ayub, Sahibzada and Haris are better talents than Indian batters....if they can't handle "medium pace" then it's a worry for Pak future.

we will next get told about how they gifted their wickets out of pity or something. this lot of pak batters couldn't even play spin properly, let alone pace. they were in tangles vs suthar, who had only 2 List A matches before this one (which was his third).

You say this because the only thing you consider is release speeds  (  and even by that Hangargekar is Fast-medium ).

But another very important factor is ability to get zip and bounce off the deck ( unless one is bowling yorkers ).

The combination of high release speeds and the ability to extract life out of pitches, is what makes a fast bowler.

This 2nd factor is what your bowlers were missing yesterday and what both Harshit and Hangargekar have.

I have seen him in the ipl and u 19 worldcup so i know enough about his release speeds or any zip or bounce he gets.

Shaheen Afridi averages 36 in tests vs the big test teams ISENA. And he averages 38 in away tests in these countries.

Minnow basher in tests so far.

Haris is incredible and will have a great white ball career. He already took pak to a world tournament final on his debut.

lol at anyone who callled sahibzada a talent. Saim is good bowl striker but technically very poor at the moment.

Amir helped win two world titles, his hype was justified. Asif was another magician.

it isnt always about the number of wickets. Shaheen already has 100. A lot of bowlers extend mediocre careers unnecessarily in search for more wickets.

The point is not about Hangargekar as he is not playing for Team India yet.

The point is about many Pakistani international level pacers these days, who don't focus on extracting life out of pitches. They cannot beat batters for pace despite good enough release speeds.

International level guys are Shaheen, naseem, Rauf, ihsan and Arshad . All decent.
Dahani is done.

Jasprit Bumrah bowling at full-throttle, expected to return for Ireland tour next month

and he is bowling full throttle at the nets, where he is sending down 8-10 overs.

the progress he has made in the last couple of weeks means he could travel to Ireland next month with a second-string India team. It is understood that a decision on this would be taken in the coming days

Hangargekar reminds me of young Bumrah at 19-20. Hangargekar is a bit faster at the same age but gets similar zip of the deck. Hangargekar is 20 and looks 20, will get quicker in the air in the next two to three years. I would like him to improve his run up a bit. His runup is also very much like Bumrah. Even in his debut series in Australia, Bumrah only bowled 135-142 range but still hurried the batsmen. Hangargekar already bowls that pace and hurries the batsmen too.

we are mostly discussing tests. did you not even read my post? when I said 200 wickets, it clearly referred to tests for example.

aamir was overhyped in tests, as is afridi. asif was great, but that's like defending azharuddin. bona fide cheats should not even be mentioned in the conversation, and asif was far worse than any 21st pacer in this regard (he has multiple strikes against him)

Pak are minnows in tests, so they enjoy bashing other minnows. when was the last time they won a test in SA or especially Aus? been ages, I am sure
