MediumPacer Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 (edited) Siraj isn't bowling seam up in these condition , that's why he isn't getting the same purchase, his wobbly balls aren't working. Edited October 29, 2023 by MediumPacer
prudent_kreeda Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 Re: Siraj We need to show some patience . He has the skills to bowl well in One dayers. Thing is that he goes for variations within an over and that could be the reason releases pressure if we compare him with Bumra & Shami. Plus a short ball is a must for him every over. We have 2 weeks before SF . Hope he will work hard on consistency by that time.

Even if one is off color, you still have two quick pacers to work with. Imagine Bumrah, Siraj, thakur. Siraj having bad day, Dibbly Dobly thakur and and only Bumrah to work with as an effective quick pacer. 3 proper quick and skilful pacers means that batters feel the possibility of relentless pressure for 30 overs. They can't take the option of playing out the first 8 overs and attacking later. And they end up taking risks against the proper quicks and often losing wickets as a result. From now on, we should carry atleast 4 proper quicks in the LOI squads and play 3 by rotation. The dibbly dobbly allrounders and floaty swing bowlers are not adding much value while the proper pacers are changing the whole complexion of our team and making it dangerous. . tapandrun Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 Siraj is showing what the difference in pace can do - Same bowler same skill but bowling at slower pace. We are already seeing this with Rabada, Shaheen Mosher 1

What Siraj lacks is a bit of brains to read the conditions and bowl accordingly. Suhaan, Mosher, Vijy and 1 other 4

Actually on a hard surface with dew his cross seamers can bring in few LBWs But yes he needs to bank more on his stock deliveries,he tends to forget his strengths and stock deliveries Which happens with Indian newcomers but he's quite experienced now to know this We can say for Umran or even Prasidh, but Siraj should now take some responsibility,he seems to loose control and doesn't have a plan B to stem the flow of runs Really good to see TM backs him,we need such characters, just a bit needs to use his mind Vijy, Vilander, Mosher and 1 other 4

But Siraj over does it. And his other deliveries have messed up seam position too as a result of too many cross seamers. His ball release of normal deliveries gets affected. 59 minutes ago, Suhaan said: But yes he needs to bank more on his stock deliveries,he tends to forget his strengths and stock deliveries Which happens with Indian newcomers but he's quite experienced now to know this We can say for Umran or even Prasidh, but Siraj should now take some responsibility,he seems to loose control and doesn't have a plan B to stem the flow of runs Really good to see TM backs him,we need such characters, just a bit needs to use his mind Yes. If Bumrah and Shami bowl with the new ball then Shardul as one change means pressure is reduced and fear factor is reduced too. If I were the captain then I would take Siraj aside and tell him to bowl in better areas and with more intensity. But it is good to rest him against weak teams. Doe Siraj have the old ball skills though to operate as first change? His strengths are with the new ball where he can break the back of batting line ups in the first PP itself. I don't think he will be dropped personally despite his performance, probably rightfully so. He has earned some rope abd in a tournament unless there are injuries you should stick with the best xi you have selected. express bowling 1

Siraj is not Bumrah who can bowl lots of variations perfectly at will. Siraj needs to get in the groove and get in rhythm to execute any kind of delivery. rollingstoned Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 It is good to see Bumrah consistently picking up new ball wickets now. There was a time when he was equally as culpable as Bhuvi for our lack of PP wickets which meant even our spinners weren't as effective because they were bowling to set batsmen who had a good platform already. express bowling 1

And he will definitely play unless Hardik is 100% bowling fit and that is unlikely. Mosher 1

Yes but we enter the next phase where teams will come with plans Maybe play out Bumrah and attack others where our other bowlers need to pull their socks up Equally they will bave opportunities to get them cheaply, now it will be all about team effort
