If one looks at above, One can easily see that there is problem in spin department. Grade B needs a pacer. Am I wrong? @express bowling

I think in each of those brackets there should be atleast on bowler in each type. specially in grade C, there should be a ratio of 3:1

There are multiple problems

No Bishnoi, Suyyash, Sai Kishore...

Huge vaccum in terms of quality of pace bowlers after Bumrah, Shami, Siraj.

It seems BCCI has just given up and are going with whatever options they have currently. Mentality wise they're still stuck in 90s when our talent pool was poor & mediocre.

Yes, I dont know local pool apart from what I see in IPL. Thats why I am not sure what BCCI did by keepeing No pacer in Grade B, And no spinner in grade A

I believe B and C should be filled with a pool of players in both department specially B to keep players motivated i.e.  they know that are they are within striking distance to get a call to represent India.

100% Agree with bolded part

You are right. And I hope to see Akashdeep in Grade B soon.

Ind's fast bowling resources problem can be fixed in an instance just need to pick some high potential players.

Spin is a different case -Very few resources available.

There is a huge talent pool of fast bowlers, spin is bit thin but all the problem is how are they picking team for A-side, U19, Emerging cups etc..

There was no leg spinner in U19/Emerging Asia cup team, Asian game too they are picking some low potential players all around.

After Ashwin Ind does not have an off-spinner that's why he get the last min. calls  in all the WCs. They kept Chahal in the team for years v.well knowing that it would be hard to pick him in playing 11 because of his fielding and batting. He was sitting on the bench for 2 WCs how could not they figured it out.

right now this should be their talent pool (in no particular order) :

Umran, Sen, Mayank, Rana, Akash deep, Tiyagi(read good comments here abt him but not sure if he is that high celling player),Kaverappa

Mukesh Choudhary(CSK), Simarnjeet (CSK) --If they are fit

Bishnoi, Suryash, R.Chahar - but they again their batting is a problem

If we are lacking quality spinners then we will have to compromise on their batting for sometime..but pick good quality spinner..and try to get couple of some pace bowler who can bat a bit..like Rana..Akashdeep etc

akash deep is amazing. he will be a good bowler.

he is like bigger version of shami.

but he needs to develop skills with reverse swing as well.

first test mein aissi performance - 8/10 performance.

line n length- 9/10

Speed- 8/10- 135 to 144K...139K average with the new ball and 137K with the older ball. Note the point I wish to make - he is fast even with the old ball.

Accuracy-7/10. Sometimes he erred too in accuracy.

BANDE Mein DAM Hain.

Prasidh is full of talent and this guy is full of strength.

The Selection Committee has also recommended Fast Bowling contracts for the following athletes – Akash Deep, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Umran Malik, Yash Dayal and Vidwath Kaverappa.

At least in the first Test- Akash has proved that he is going to be someone who can maintain Speed , has fair control over his line n length. most impressive is he bowled @139 K average in his first 7 over Spell - from 136k to 144K - some of his balls were jaffa's that looked as if Siraj/Kuldeep Sen /Boom etc. may have bowled. i mean some of his balls matched the best Jaffa's and were wicket taking balls in TESTS. batsman was lucky to survive those balls.

in his second spell he looked as if he was always TRYING HARD and not looking to reduce his pace...that's what matters. Ashok DINDA was one such bowler who used to come back and still try to bowl at his max speed in the evening...so this guy should go to Australia and getting a C contract is good for him.

Vijay seems to be a Domestic All rounder with great trundling Skills and a knuckle ball- I think he can play on for t20's for India, if I am a selector - I wont pick him in odi or tests as genuine fast bowlers are the ASK in odi and tests. even in t20 - I will prefer a genuine fast bowling All rounder like Hardik rather than VIJAY but if harshit rana/shardul/hardik all are un available , may be I can consider him. even that Harshit rana's fast bowling partner is very good( forgot his name)

Umran- delighted that he is still in the scheme of things, thank you agarkar. now lets see how umran malik comes back.

yash - many batsman including rinku singh have hit him all over, i think he is some one who has some BACKING and that's why he is considered ahead of Kuldeep sen, khaleel ahmed and other pacers....i dont think he is one of the best 12 fast bowlers in India.

vidwat kaverappa - cant say anything negative about him as he is PRODUCING results in domestic cricket and gets good bounce, if he improves pace, he can be like prasidh.

I may not agree to the statement that Prasidh's international career is over.

Yes, I agree that he was a FAILURE when he got his opportunity. But his Talent( his ability to bowl good line n length at 140K + Speed ) is TRUE.

Sometimes cricketers have SELF DOUBTS and that's when their performances DIP.

these self-doubts are due to FITNESS Issues OR Form Issues OR sometimes coaches and players around them are criticizing the Player and suddenly the player loses confidence on himself.

either he had fitness issues OR form issues OR some coach or players were doubting his capabilities and if he is a MARD - he will bounce back strongly.

Spin is bit of a problem but not serious tbh.

After the queue Jadeja, Ashwin, Axar, Sundar, Kuldeep we have

Leggies - Bishnoi, Suyash & R Chahar. All 3 are different in style..R Chahar is a good bat...Bishnoi has potential with bat.

Left arm orthodox - Sai Kishore, Manav Suthar, Nishant Sindhu, Saurabh Kumar

Off spin - This is where we are short. Pulkit Narang & Saransh Jain are the only 2. Jalaj is good but he is already 37.

Pacer wise I don't think Sen will be able to make it now. He is 27 and soon will be 28. Hasn't played consistently post his injury in 2022 and lost 1.5 years. Tyagi is also frustrating me a bit as he should be playing as much as cricket. But he is also wasting time with corrupt UPCA.

for off spin, neither of the 2 you wrote are good. for "pure" off spin, I would favor dodiya. and for off-spin AR, it would be tanush kotian

Sen is a good talent but has played only one game. Can't judge based on that.

i saw a ball that was missed by Samson flying above his hands ( as a keeper) and it was a super fast jaffa in an IPL match- it was probably a 148k bowl and I could not see the ball ..how fast it went and I was sitting in the stands behind the Keeper.........i felt that some of his balls were faster than Umraan too...this guy was RAPID IN IPL.

ravi ashwin called him fastest bowler in India...
