Speeds and Performances of Pacers and Spinners

it is a PITY..we are having 3 Pacers and a trundling HARDIK in 15 ( dube is not a pace all rounder- bring shardul into the 15 Or KHAleel)

on wickets that require 5 Pacers and teams are playing 4 genuine pacers and one AR kind Pacer and 6th bowler is a spinner.

USA did not bowl even 1 over of SPIN in 18.2 overs.

I think this tournament even in west indies will support pacers, pitches in USA are under prepared and even in west indies , pitches wont help Spinners.

why are they not playing Kuldeep ahead of JADDU OR AXAR.

why are they playing DUbe in all matches when he is finding the going tough.

Think adding any pacer reduces batting strength as none of the bowlers can bat and batters can not bowl- Hence Pandaya, Axar , Jadeja , Dube (just incase) makes up 5th and 6th bowling options

Dube is playing as an out and out hitter as top 3 lacks the power and SR to take down bowlers in middle overs, they are T20 accumulators

Ind is not a T20 side, so finding balance is v.difficult, only SKY plays in T20 mode but he fails in/against big matches and good oppositions.

Bumrah  3rd over

144

143

141

144

148

145

These is pretty much Bhumra's top white-ball speeds when he was fully fit.

In tests when in rhythm we may see him hitting bit higher speeds as he was doing previously.

@express bowling

We all know Pakistan bowling is bad in tests. Pretty good in odi and very good in t20

However in any format, they will always boast and rave about their fast bowling. Babar always says things like our fast bowlers will get the job done. They really promote their pacers.

This is one aspect of the game they value and I respect pcb and babar dor this stance on pace bowling.

Nobody should pay money to watch trundlers. You want trundlers fo watch regional leagues.

We promote trundlers. Only virat changed our ideology

Roro is a medium pace lover. Gill should stay away from captaincy. He still calls all our quicks medium pacers. Dk we all know what I think of him. Lel. Well basically Gill is another dk when it comes to pace

Jaiswal should be our future captain imo or pant. They seem to favour fast bowling. Pant mentioned in an interview in Australia that without pace and bounce you cant win. Also he meant nor blind express pace. He meant accurate 135 to 145 bowlers with bounce wins you games everywhere.

Not sure if their bowling is that good in Odis but in T20is they are solid bowling line-up.

This is pretty much an ideal template bowling attack for T20 matches if a team does not have luxury of a mystery bowler and some1 like Malinga/Pathirana (who are wkt takers without being costly)

Pak understands fast bowling lot better than Ind does, before Kolhi there was lack of knowledge of how to create a fast bowling line ups, not every1 is a leader of pack,

some are good as #3/4/5 bowler.

If Pak pace bowler does not have a dodgy action then most of their basics for fast bowling are v.solid. Thats why they are able to pick raw-talent and introduce them to intnl cricket early. They can compromise on line length but not on pace, line length and skills can be taught or obtained from exp. but pace can not be taught

In Ind they try to find line length bowler and hope they make decent enough bowler to serve longtime, huge difference in mind-set here

Before current TM Ind had top draw fast bowling line up and a never seen before kind of bowling bench. 6/7 top bowlers.

This TM failed in introduce any new fast bowler when they already lost 3 bowlers - Ishant, Umesh and Shami will not be there for long.

Should have introduce few bowlers by now , but there is no planning. They kept re-cycling Avesh and Khaleel and played Mukesh Kumar all the formats and  he is  not picked in 18 member team.

Excellent analysis by Ponting about Bumrah and Siraj's bowling.

Rarely see this from Indian commentators.

What did he say? If you don’t mind typing ..

Regarding Siraj he said that he just bowled at 142 k. But he is someone who does not always reach these speeds in every spell. He does so when he is running in well. Siraj should focus on running in well.

Regarding Bumrah he said that Bumrah is deceptively quick. He compared Bumrah's release point with Nortje and said that both are quick in the air but because Bumrah releases the ball well inside the pitch, he hits the bat harder than Nortje and surprises batters more with pace.

He did not blabber the same " just need to bowl in good areas " stuff that we hear from Indian commentators.

But we already know all those so punter dint really add much tbh. It just sounds disingenuous coming from his mouth tbh in general.

Thanks. Very good observations indeed. Especially about Siraj. We know most of that but often people are very reluctant to make genuine comments. And actually some just don’t have the brains like most Indian commentators.

Analysis in live commentary can't be aimed at a few fast bowling fans like us who know all this, because we spend a lot of time on Indian fast bowling.

If someone watches cricket from time to time then he would find this new or atleast something different.

Moreover, Bumrah's release points are well known but don't think he has been compared with Nortje with pictures and videos. And Siraj's bowling speed / run-up relationship is rarely discussed.

Just remembering Mayank.............

I saw some wickets that he took in IPL and his bowling video's-

My observations-

1. Batsman were kind of Scared of his bowling and showing the fear to face him. even SA and RCB captain defended the fastest ball bowled by mayank and 156.8 and ran  for a single and was run OUT- he kind of pushed the ball to a fielder and if he was in his right sense , he would have never gone for a single , he ran like a rabbit but could not complete a Single- I intend to say that he was very uncomfortable against him and he kind of ran to go to the other end.

2.Most of his wickets were on bouncers which if were not played by batsman would have hit the face or helmet or the shoulder of a batsman- his default line n length is kinda 6 to 8 meters from the stumps which is a deadly length - no batsman in the world likes that length. many batsman had some MIS hits which were not caught of that length.so its not just PACE like fire but Pace at that length which was screwing the batters.

3. few of his shortish balls hit the stump and few just went above the stumps- kind of jaffa's.

4. his entire over seems like I am watching 6 Jaffa's and when a batsman manages and hits it for a 4 , it is like the batter has done a great JOB.

5. How can LSG ask such a DEMON bowler to come to bowl after 9 overs in his debut Matcch itself- is the coach DUMB, is the captain a duffer, can he not realise that this guy will create havoc.

6. Never seen any INDIAN bowler terorising batsman as much as Mayank. even BOOM and Srinath created some Panic but it seems I was seeing fear in some batters and they were playing wreaklessly against Mayank.

Conclusion- Darayega , Dhamkayega , Fadega  ..wicket to lega hi.............@agarkar  pls expedite his comeback provided he is FIT.

Aus are good technically, they understand cricket lot better than others, they are able to find out opposition's batter weakness.

Can spot issues with bowlers actions, seems like they have better knowledge of these things hence you would see then reporting dodgy actions often.

Hasnain (Pak intnl fast bowler) was playing in BBL where the coach of opposition team spotted that his action is not clean and reported and it was found out he was chucking. So just watching they can spot the issues. And Hasnain has been playing for Pak for long time has been under multiple Pak bowling coaches, at one time Waqar was coaching them.

Though Aus batters are best batters of sheer pace they would always tell that handling pace is not easy where else Ind batters would tell pace does not concern them.

Archers such a game changer for England. Bowls 4 economical overs at pace and today got the danger man Pooran to break the momentum.
