Mayank is as quick if not faster than Umran.

But just like Umran's mind is now cluttered and he is operating in early to mid 140's...Mayank too is going same route.

Didn't expect that with Morkel...who himself was a 140-150 bowler in his prime and understands the importance of pace.

Despite the issues Umran had, I’ve rarely seen him not cross 150 in a spell of 4 overs ever.

he has lost a good 10k of pace,4-5 k would have been understandable 10k not so much

Not 10 k but around 5 k to 6 k.

His quickest has been around 150 k in both the completed matches so far.

Exactly 10k drop is unfathomable. That can only happen if they have messed things up technically. The slow balls n all r fine, but even if he was looking to take it easy, I’m sure there would have been at least a few really quick balls.

Umran did not have any injury issues then.

I mean it’s not like Mayank has had a major injury. Most of his time apart was just conditioning. If he’s gonna take so much time to get back to ‘full pace’ then that is even another issue then.

If Mayank runs in with intent like earlier, he is likely to bowl 143 k to 150 k atleast.

Why did he change action?

lol when are we playing England and Australia? I think once he’s hit for a few, him and the people advising Mayank will get some brains back.
Also it’s paramount that there’s competition. How da f is Harshit in the squad for so long but hasn’t got a game yet?? Umran needs to be driven to come back.

So disappointing to not see Harshit.

@express bowling, I am really doubtful now...something is not right.

if it's really IPL retentions...its a sham.

Third series and boy is just not able to get a game. He would have provided an extra buffer with the bat and is genuinely skill ful with the ball at 140ish pace.

Viral infection..he didnt even travek to Hyd with team as per cricinfo..

He was getting injured repeatedly.

Big disappointments:

- Mayank not express bowler so far..

-Abhishek misses oppprtunities

-Harshit couldnt get any matches

I was excited this series for these 3 only and an disappointed..these 3 could have made us very powerful against top sides too..

other benefits are just maximizing our range against weaker sides..0

In the ipl the main problem was that they rushed him back. Having said that, I don’t think it was the same injury. So just bad luck.

He has lost some pace after action tweak. And this is the risk of meddling with actions.

If this reduction in pace is due to modified action then it will come back. Brett Lee and Shoaib had several action modification in their career, they always found their pace back.
