@Rightarmfast

Medium fast bowler who is accurate and can swing/seam the ball.

But clearly not international standard

Ok.. Agreed, 127-128 is way too slow. But still just 2 balls is too small a sample size. Maybe he does quicken later. Lekin anyway, quality to hai. He is definitely international level, but the pace will be his nemesis. No point.

Have you seen him clocked? What's his pace? Waise what about Bhuvi and the gang? Ye log aa sakte hain, to ek chance to banta hai. Jagrata me prasad to sab ko milni chahie boss.

He mostly bowls 125-128/29 kmph and some effort ball goes 133 kmph, have not seen him go above that in last 2 years.

These days domestic speedometers are v.accurate

This is the ideal pace that works in domestics, not much that edges goes for 4s/6s , drives and flicks can be chased down by fielders.

In intnl cricket he may push a bit and then get injured or once the spot is fixed will return back to original speed and fall-off v.quickly afterwards

He needs to add 10k's.

This is what I've heard about him too.

An exceptionally skilled bowler who can hit a mean wobble seam and plug away at a length should still average at least around 132/133 kph

This guy's effort ball seems to be around 133

Doesn't have the bare minimum pace for international cricket

Ind plays with 2 seamer in Ind,can he be one of those 2 seamer ...??

His pace and bowling style wont work in Aus, Eng now offers flat surfaces ,

On Nz is the place where he can be in the playing 11 but even in NZ they are producing bouncy pitches..

have seen a lot of up-take for him in sm and yt, making him look like every team will go for him......he is been in Ind cricket for sometime now, its not like they have not called him for a trial before this season...

If we go strictly by numbers then Vasuki Koushik leads at all fronts.

Very much a magician like Asif or Philander.

Sadly he bowls at 115-120k with effort balls at 125k.

How was Mohd Asif so effective bowling at around 128-130 kmph in international cricket?

He was tall plus in his short career he mostly played on juicy tracks. Very skillful ofcourse

Asif was bowling 135-137 kmph in his prime, after sometime he has injury or something that reduced the pace and he was not the same bowler.

He was tall and hit the deck bowler, no1 was doing what he was doing that time, there were seam bowler but no1 move the ball that much. Plus he can move both ways.

Though he had a subtle change in action but batter were not able to figure it out, takes time to notice that, there was not much analysis done that time and then he had good bowling line-up around him.

Its similar to how Jemision caused so many issues for Ind only being ~137 kmph bowler.

I never saw Asif bowling at that speed - I always saw him around 130 sometimes a bit higher but mostly a bit lower.

Here he bowls Laxman at 129.6 kmph

My point being if this guy Nabi can get this type of movement - could be worth an investment even at 130kmph esp in places like NZ. Another thing with this Nabi is that the wk and slips are quite back and the ball is carrying..... so the pace is deceptive.

The selectors should declare that if u bowl less than 135k, you will NEVER be selected at the international level. That would put an end to this mediocrity we’ve been dealt with lately.

These guys can continue with domestics and be content. Else get a new career.

Cool.  I wonder how many he did at > 135 kmph? I remember seeing him mostly around 130.

Anyway he was deadly around 130 kmph  too.

The slowest international seamer I've seen with any success is Mohammad Abbas who averaged around 128 kph at his peak.

But he had an unusually high release point of 2.1m and was exceptionally accurate with a lot of backspin revs on his wobble ball

Mind you, even his best spells were when he was bowling around 131 kph average (Lord's 2018)

I don't think this guy will work anywhere.

Agreed. For Asif, definitely he was a military medium bowler. But one point to consider is that, during the time Asif was bowling, Pakistan had a better bowling attack. And they did have genuine quicks at the time. So, they could scuffle up the batsmen from the other end while Asif could do his thing.

Had Asif been the only bowler good bowler in the team, his effectiveness would have gone down drastically.

High release, highly accurate, and he has some usual action too.

Think abbas and philander would be another one.
