Adding power game and 6 hitting shots should not be problem to such tall and long reach batters. Not sure why Ind fringe players not improving or pushing others for the spot in the side. You need to have a stable base as well. Paddikkal and VJ shankar all 3 dont have a solid base for power game...in contrast Rinku despite being a diminutive size has a very strong base while hitting sixes. Shahrukh does have strong base but he doesnt have power. Dube is the one who has immense power in his hands, Pant despite an unstable base has power to hit sixes.

These are the things that can be sorted in 1 off-season. Strong and stable base can be developed. Its hard for ppl like rinku who have to add power and then work of technical things(Strong and stable base etc.). On the other hand padikkal, Shahruk etc already have reach and power they just need to work on getting to strong position to hit 6s, they already get the leverage with that big reach. Players like rinku have to move towards the ball 1st to get the ball in the range of their hitting arc and then come into strong and stable base hitting pos. Edited March 24 by tapandrun
tapandrun Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Ind needs atleast 2 good fast bowling options for up coming Odi wc and T20i wc. Also 1 fast bowling allrounder is needed<-- Primary skill being fast bowling. Fast bowling resources are v.thin atm and all the planning and selection should be done as if bhumrah and hardik may not be available. Arshdeep does not inspire much confidence in Odis, sometimes looks like he can nt even bowl 10 over. Siraj is declining and last 10 over bowling from him can be an issue. Ind effectively has no fast bowling attack right now. GT got khejoriya (34 yo), and Gill is captain of this side he is also captain of Ind not sure if he is thinking this alright. Should have picked some1 new Tom apple looked sharp. may prove costly but simarjeet was an option

Think alot of las are chucking, even the mystery spinners have to be looked at. It should be same what they did after murali and other spinners retirement.
