He must try to go back to atleast 137 k to 145 k range quickly after his return from injury and slight change in action. Otherwise he maybe stuck in this sub 140 k speed range. These speeds are quite disappointing actually. Tons of bowlers bowl in that range. Needs to be AT LEAST 142-147 given his age. Anyways let’s see as he’s coming back from injury. Vk1 Posted July 5 Posted July 5 13 hours ago, Vk1 said: I am 100% sure this Morkel basthard doesn't even know about Bishnois back leg problem. At least some analysts are putting the blame on team management.. Sid Monga on cricinfo https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/eng-vs-ind-2nd-t20i-ravi-bishnoi-on-the-back-foot-as-india-s-lack-of-attention-to-detail-hurts-them-1544361 You can still overlook a front-foot no-ball from a fast bowler. At a pinch, you can make allowances for a spinner overstepping. Back-foot no-balls from a spinner, however, suggest he is doing something he has not done in the nets or, worse, nobody has corrected him in the nets. By the end of it, Bishnoi just seemed more worried about where he was landing than where the ball was landing, which points to more of a preparation issue than execution. tweaker 1
Vk1 Posted July 5 Posted July 5 It needs some instagram scrolling for Nitish to work with Steffan Jones who identifies his run up issue and increase his speed by 10 clicks. What are Morkel & Bahutule even doing in this set up? You can't even identify a back foot no ball in nets from a bowler with such mysterious run up? Suhaan and tweaker 2
express bowling Posted July 5 Author Posted July 5 (edited) Gurnoor Brar in the 2nd Unofficial Test vs SL-A 4 wickets + 6 wickets = 10 wickets on a very flat deck. Wins match for India-A by bowling out SL in less than a day on a 4th day pitch. On the same pitch Aquib Nabi picks 0 + 1 = 1 wicket in the match. I guess this settles the Gurnoor vs Nabi debate for the time being. On the same pitch the SL pacers pick 0 wickets in the match. Gurnoor is a gem ! He can pick wickets in conditions where other pacers can't. Edited July 5 by express bowling vishalvirsingh, MK55, Mosher and 6 others 6 3

MK55 Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Gunroor is the only good pacer we have introduced lately. The rarity with him is that not only has he got all the ingredients to be a good bowler (high pace n bounce), he’s also getting the results to back him up. Next bring in Ashok - probably the fastest bowler in the world or definitely top 2/3. Why da f is he not given more chances? Gunroor, Ashok should be part of the core group along with Bumrah, Prasidh / Siraj. Mosher, Suhaan, Vk1 and 4 others 1 6

Thats making it worse. The selection committee needs a total overhaul starting with the man in charge.

They will neglect all the imp. attributes-- Pace, bounce, zip, high release and just settle to line-length. This does not happen anywhere. There is no system which downplays pace, bounce, zip, high release but Ind ckt systems does. If some1 understands ind crkt system then will see bowlers like Mukesh kumar/ Kamboj and will know these kind of bowler will make to Ind side. Until v.rectly there was no concept of seam bowling, it was all swing. Coaches would just ask bowlers to bowl full and hope batter makes mistake while driving. The issue with such approach is this only works if the bowler is v.accurate little too full it goes for 4s, little too back batter has all the time to play what ever shot they want. And couple that with not so tall bowlers bowling sub 135 kmph. So its a v. small area and little margin to work with hence you need highly accurate bowlers. The issue with this highly accurate bowlers do not think before Bhuvi Ind ever had a highly accurate bowler and Bhuvi was v.skillful. They hardly understood wht does it mean by bowling heavy ball until ipl. Ind batter just said it comes faster on to the bat. The reason was bowler was hitting the deck hard hence the ball pitch at similar areas to a normal swing bowler would hit the non sweet part of the bat(near the handle) and batter would feel more impact compare to normal swing. It's an age old problem. We were happy playing spinners and batters everywhere with Karsan Ghavri, Mohinder Amarnath and Sunil Gavaskar being used to shine the new ball. Until Kapil Dev broke the doors. Kapil was in modern definition "a trundler", he used the new ball to swing and that pushed the likes of Manoj Prabhakar, Roger Binny and Madan lal who all were trundlers..with military medium pace. Srinath, back then was an outlier as he was fast bowler, hence he had to wait for consistent chance as selectors were hesitant. Srinath too was surrounded by military medium pacers like Venkatesh, Mohanty, Robin Singh etc for his entire career. I find it laughable that MRF pace academy which had Dennis Lillee as the sr. coach for years, didn't help us enough to get fast bowlers. We had to wait for another outlier like Bumrah to get back the interest. express bowling, Vk1 and Suhaan 3

Pf was established to find and developed pacers in Ind. The board was not helpful at the beginning, they saw pf as straight competition , they thought its trying to take over cricket. So board was not intersted in them and didnt send players , even later too they used to send some age grp player , they even sent batters. Pf had to work really hard sometime directly with local boards to get the bowler or high potential bowler. Would say Pf has done alot or even more than enough but resulted in not enough. The thing is Pf is separate entity , they can call bowler train them but they can not have them selected to local side or Ind side. High potential players are side lined not given a game, if injured they will not get medical care. Player from only 5/6 major cricket centres are selected. Even till today test side you will only find batters from 5/6 centres. Back then it was with bowlers too. Suhaan 1
