They see mayank yadav as 150+ kmph bowler and when fully fit and bowling full tilt he does not ball a single bad ball. Mayank is getting this hall-pass for sometime usless he establishes himslef in the team or starts cranking up 150+ kmph he soon will be out of favours. Tyagi is 145+ kmph bowler and has not played much domestic , though he has been in the system for so long. tweaker 1
Suhaan Posted August 27 Posted August 27 8 hours ago, vvvslaxman said: You don't need to play a lot of domestic game if you are going to back someone based on height and pace. It is not like GUrnoor has played 50 FC games. He was not even into cricket in his early days. Tyagi came through ranks. Irfan pathan as a 20 year old bowled 50 overs in an innings of a test match. Tyagi was not even picekd for T20. Why does he have to play first class to be selected for T20. But prasdham played T20. So there is a lot of inconsistency in selection. It is not a shock. We have seen guys like Gony playing internationals. Those shocks haven't happened for the first time now, inconsistencies have been part and parcel of Indian cricket. There is always bias by the captain and coach, Dhoni,Kohli, and now Gill all have it, but few of those alignments by coincidence have been good and many have been disasters. There is no hard set rule to introduce newcomers into the setup.Only recently have we seen the IPL being the catalyst, but it had always pushed inclusions some way or the other.Kohli backed RCB and Dhoni backed CSK certified individuals Mosher and express bowling 2
express bowling Posted August 27 Author Posted August 27 Siraj just bowled a non-slower ball at 121 kph. How are we selecting such un unfit pacer ?? Mosher 1
express bowling Posted August 27 Author Posted August 27 Siraj and Prasidh showing why they are support pacers ( 3rd pacer quality ). Can't prise out a wicket when the going gets tough and the pitch is slow. Bumrah of course could. He could spear in quick, accurate yorkers to take the pitch out of the equation. Gurnoor can bowl quick, indipping yorkers too. tweaker, Vk1 and Mosher 3

Now it is GT quota. Prasidh - GT SIraj - GT Gurnoor - GT For years KKR team always had very little representation. Kartik Tyagi looked the most impressive. He is not part of any squad. Ashok sharma already played. That fat yash thakur played. As long as that srk remains owner of kkr, kkr and ots players are going nowhere. Bcci should allow players to mention a negative consent on their auction form, they should be allowed to exclude teams they don’t want to play for.

This is a good idea, but there should be a strict limit on how many teams a player can exclude. Otherwise, a high demand player might sign an under-the-table deal with one team and exclude the other 9 teams in the auction form to get picked by that team for base price.

Malcolm Merlyn Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Kkr is a black hole I just hope since mamta sarkaar isgone now srk sells kkr and leaves bengal as well

For T20s you need defensive lines, gimmicky bowling, specially during death overs when batters are set. Gurnoor, Prasidh, Shami bowl attacking lines, into the batters for wkts...in T20s (or specifically IPL) the couple of mishits can effectively ruin their spells and in turn lose the match for the team. Bumrah is the only one who has all the variations...gimmicky balls, yorkers, bouncers, hard length. Likes of Hazelwood, Cummins arent very good T20 bowlers, but they excel in Tests. Hazelwood though has improved as he has gained experience. But how can one put Gurnoor in the class of Shami or other great bowlers. HE is yet ot prove in any format before arriving at a conclusion that he is fit for certain format. Thakur had a screaming start to his career both with bat and ball. Now he is nowhere to be seen. He was also originally there for T20.
New guy Posted August 27 Posted August 27 We dont deserve to do anything in WTC with such fast bowlers on display

He was also originally there for T20. I am not talking about class, but in general, certain bowlers perform well on one format over the other. Tests require stamina, ability to bowl long spells over after over and attacking on the batters. The lengths which are hittable in T20s, they are rhe wkt taking ones in Tests. While comparing Shardul vs Gurnoor, Shardul was always unfit, in his debut game he started with 148k but by 5th/6th over he was hovering at 135k. Gurnoor hasnt shown that slowness so far in FC games...He has been hitting 140+ regularly for extended amount of time. This combined with pace and movement makes him an asset for a red ball. tweaker and express bowling 2
MK55 Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Siraj is not unfit. Based on his interview, it seems to me that he’s just lost his pace. Even earlier he had this tendency to only put in effort balls in some spells (after wicket or altercation) / test matches and then completely go missing in others. However the difference was that those dats he used to bowl 133-137. 120k is utterly embarrassing and simply unacceptable. We are effective a bowler down and bowling 230 overs at one go. This has to be on Gambhir’s tactics - both selection of Siraj (after he gave clear signs in his last match) and the decision to enforce follow on (we are historically bad at that). Follow on only makes sense if the wicket is a minefield. There was no justification in selecting Siraj after his last match when u had Brar waiting on the bench. You do not put a guy in a test match with the hope of him sorting his “issues” midway in the match. express bowling and tweaker 2

He is a " safety first guy ", especially in tests. Prefers even non-performing seniors and wants a deep batting lineup at the cost of picking ordinary bowlers.
